Didn't eat in restraint but bought Cajun smoked salmon and ate elsewhere. It is insanely tasty!!! Have bought it at Mt. Royal and Canal Park. Really amazingly well done. The whole salmon with 3 or 4 flavor so is superb as well.

This is a great local restaurant that has now expanded to the Woodland neighborhood. People from all over have found this to be a one of a kind experience.

This is our favorite place to eat in Duluth. Best sandwiches ever! They are always perfect. I like the cold turkey and my boyfriend likes the Cajun Finn. Just know that there aren't many places to sit in the restaurant. There is a patio if you go here in the summer.

Hungry for a nice smoked meat sandwich and aware of the high marks Northern Waters has regarding their smoked meats, I was looking forward to an awesome sandwich. A large menu board listing some 20 different sandwiches was posted at the entrance. Liking non of them - I am a bit of a picky eater - given the various sauces,... More

The smoked salmon is unbeatable! Delicious sandwiches (Northern Waters bagel is tasty and the Hedonist is nice too) and boxed lunches perfect for a picnic along the lake (in the summer that is).

What a wonderful place! We saw this on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. Only to realize we never paid much attention to Northern Waters Smokehous in all the times we have gone up to Duluth and walked Canal Park. Everything is wonderful. Its a great place to grab something to eat and go find a place to sit and enjoy the... More

Great selection of in-house smoked meat with ok prices. Their boursin cheese is a must try! Efficient smiley service, even when it's really busy. Try Everything!

Ate the best sandwich for a long time!! The bread is crispy and fresh, the fish was awesome... crispy lettuce and a tons of cream cheese! but cost me 20$ CAD for a sandwich without any sides... Small place with a counter, no tables... Perfect for fast lunch or take out!

We went hereto pick up some smoked fish (salmon and white fish, both ended up being wonderful) and then ended up having lunch. Inside seating is very limited and there is a deck outside if the weather permits (this is Duluth). What a variety of sandwiches - so original and delicious. Try the Big Dipper or the Silence of the... More

There are no tips allowed. Instead they pay their employees well. What a concept! They have a communal table for those who want to meet other people.
