Although the belly dancer was fun. The food was sub par. 3 of us had 3 different dishes… lamb, shrimp, steak. Every dish was very salty. When we said something to the waiter he said,”I’ll tell the cook.” Nothing else was done nor said again....Upon completion of the meal, we had waited about 20 minutes and finally needed to ask for our check. I would not go back to this place.More

Having recently moved to the area, I decided to try picking up some Gyro meat for take out. I placed the order and paid for it easily on my cell phone and was notified when my order would be ready. I was able to pick...up my order at the drive up window and it smelled so good! I had ordered a pound of gyro meat, 1/2 pint of tzatziki sauce and the chips that came with garlic sauce. The food was wonderfully hot and fragrant when I picked it up. I couldn't wait to get it home! When I got home I found that the gyro meat had onions in it and I was delighted because I had planned on cutting an onion for it at home. In addition I found a bag with warm cut up pita bread pieces in it as well as everything I ordered. The food was even more delicious than it smelled. The garlic sauce that came with the chips was so tasty and had a peppery bite to it that was wonderful. I'm so glad that I tried their take out and will be doing that again and soon. I didn't realize how close (about 8 minutes) I live to them as well. I couldn't be happier with my meal and look forward to doing it again. Thanks so much!More

From arrival without a booking till our departure we thoroughly enjoyed our lunch experience. Between the owner and his staff including Lily we were offered a nice position to sit outside, had our menus quickly delivered, orders taken and food served. The Veg Mediterranean Combo...was a hit with the other three, while as I don't eat seafood or nuts, I was delighted with my Italian Wrap which was very tasty. The others also tried the baklava Combo and raved about them during the rest of our ride that day.More

I visited Ansari's on Easter and was craving filling and fresh food before a hiking excursion. Ansari's didn't disappoint! I did not eat in the restaurant, but it was busy that day. Instead I ordered it to go and picked it up at the window....It is a sit down restaurant but has a drive thru window. Servers who handed me the food were dressed as if to serve at a sit down restaurant. They were very courteous and wished me a happy Easter as I drove off. Food: I ordered the Gyros meal deal and received a generous amount of food - gyros, greek salad, pita, tzatziki. I also had an order of falafels. This includes 5 falafels, tahini sauce, and various veggies (tomato, cucumber, onion, pickles). I definitely had enough for a second meal after my hike. The gyros were warm, moist, flavorful, and with a slight crisp that you would expect when it is freshly taken from a vertical spit. The falafels had a good balance of flavor and were also moist on the inside, golden brown on the outside. Not overcooked at all. I would definitely consider coming back if I were up in the area again, this time for a sit down experience.More

We stopped with a friend on our way to the Minnesota Zoo. Service was fine – attentive but not intrusive. The patio was shaded and great for a warm day. The tzatziki was highly garlicked and my gyro meat was dry. Bobby’s salad was crisp...and fresh.More

The service with Khaled is why the review is so low. We waited 15 minutes and then asked for a waiter. He came and took the order. We had to get our own water and begged others to refill our beverages. The Gyro sandwiches and...chips were delicious and large portions! I hope that he won't be allowed to ruin any else's dinner. The manager assisted once, but service remained non-existent afterwards.More

We were a group of 6 last evening, stopped by Ansaris Grill for some drinks and appetizers. Ordered Stella Artois beer (3 large, 1 small), 7 Glendronach 12 (4 neat, 3 with ice), 4 Glenlivet (with ice), 1 lb chicken shwarma, 1/2lb beef shwarma, 2...order of wings, 2 order of fries (of which 1 was "free" since order was delayed) Each item was mentioned twice and repeated and confirmed by our server - who was nice. All went well till the non-itemized bill was presented - over $500. We asked for an itemized bill. They had charged for 7 Benriach 20yr @ $35 each. We asked for the manager to explain. As per the manager, they were out of Glendronach 12 and she had been serving us Benriach 20. There is a visible color difference between Glendronach and Benriach (former darker than the latter - have a group picture that shows we were having the Glendronach). Plus we had specifically asked for Glendronach 12 as listed on their menu. We asked the manager cum bartender to fix the bill - which she was not happy about but went ahead with. We were presented with the "corrected" bill of $350: - charged us $15 for each of the seven Glendronach 12 - their menu clearly states $12. We were told their system has changed prices - we were not informed while ordering that menu prices have changed. - charged us $4 extra for the "rocks upcharge" for all drinks. Firstly, there was no significant quantity difference. Secondly we had 4 neat whiskies in that order. - charged us for all the sauces - ranch, hot sauce - charged us service charge of $70 - which is more than their stated 18% service charge for group of over 5-6 people. I tried to have a conversation with the manager/bartender regarding the incorrect charges with no avail. I had 3 regulars intervene on her behalf which made the conversation contentious. A sensible seeming waiter did attempt to intermediate and even offered to pay the difference. Suffice to say, we left with an horrible experience.More

Hoping Trip Advisor will update info - this place is, as of April, 2022, available to dine in as well as take out. We came here on a Saturday afternoon and were delighted with the food. SOup and the appetizer sampler platter were enough for...two people. LOTS of people here and we heard from friends it is locally popular. We understand why. Strongly recommended.More

Inedible and tasteless. Tasteless , that is, except for the bitter burnt falafel. Visited yesterday late afternoon before the Saturday rush with 3 friends. Ansari's was half empty at the time. Unfortunately, I am a big fan of Mediterranean cuisine and I will not return....The St. Paul/Minneapolis area is full of great classic and wonderful innovative restaurants. Don't waste your time and money here. My Middle Eastern Salad (almost $18 : $14.99 plus $3 for the "lamb Shawarma') was a total waste of money. The Mediterranean salad with lamb shawarma stood out as the most amazingly unacceptable item served us: Chunk rubber would probably be easier to chew (or even cut!) than the rock-like garbage liberally strewed over the top of the limp and lifeless green bed of something (lettuce, maybe?) put before me. One could only guess that the so-called meat had been over-cooked weeks ago, then reheated and placed under a heat lamp for hours to further toughen and dry out. It was amazing how difficult it was to even cut the 'lamb'. Chewing and swallowing was near impossible. Here's their menu description: Fresh salad greens tossed in tzatziki with a scoop of hummus, falafel, & gyros. Topped with cucumber, kalamata olives, pepperoncini, tomato & onion. **Olives may contain pits** Sub Gyros for Chicken Gyros for $1 or Shawarma for $3. Even the non-lamb items described were pathetic. "Fresh" did not even come close to describing the lifeless and limp state of the gloppy greens. Two tiny 1/3 inch items were probably thrown in to give the impression that Kalamata olives were included, per menu description. No tomatoes, no cucumbers and no onions. My "Falafel" (and that of my companion's) - although acceptable consistency - had been over fried to the point of have that distinctively obvious bitter burnt taste. Does anyone in the kitchen ever taste or monitor what they're sending out to the public during service hours? I half expected Gordon Ramsey (Hell's kitchen tv show) to come screaming out of the kitchen and shut the place down. I'd been pressured by my companions to again re-try Ansari's after the current pandemic restrictions had eased. What had been marginal in previous years has definitely now gone further downhill. The only amusement was when the wait-person showed up with the bill and asked me if, "Do you want to box up your dinner?" A quick kick under the table from one of my companions reminded me that we had other places to go that night.More

Good variety, good food, but basically a loud tired sports bar. tables old, Christmas lights wrapped around pipes, overall in need of some renovations. This is not the place to go for a quiet relaxing dinner. far from that. It is a zoo and only...gets louder when the belly dancer shows up. oh yeah since there was 5 people at our table they put a service change on our bill that was over 28 dollars. That was a show stopper for me on probably going back.. 5 people is not exactly a large party.More

Turning the corner from the entryway, you walk into a fun and festive atmosphere. There is a platform in the middle of the restaurant for a belly dancer to perform throughout the nights on Fridays and Saturdays. The lights are dim and colorful. The service...was friendly and everyone had a smile. The food was quick and very flavorful. The portions are very gracious, and my partner and I both had to leave with boxes in hand. The establish also has a bar on the side with a more "sports bar" feeling to the atmosphere.More

We were looking for a spot to have lunch near the zoo and decided to try this place. When we walked in we were a little sceptical because it felt like a sports bar and not a place for Mediterranean food. We ordered the Mediterranean...Platter and it was delicious. A nice selection and more than enough for the three of us.More

Had a taste for Greek food and this place was easy to get to. It was our first time making a selection from here. Ordered the stir fry, falafel, 3 orders of different flavors of shish kabobs, and 2 hummus. The jalapeño cilantro hummus is...one we’d pass on again but the the Avocado one all four of us liked. The kabobs were hefty, rice was flavorful. Half of us enjoyed the Kufta, but our companions didn’t particularly care for it. For the first time we were very pleased, as we can’t very well reduce a rating because we chose a few things we weren’t familiar with and wouldn’t select again. It was more expensive than we’d have spent at another that we looked at that was closed on Sunday, but the quality of the food I. Our orders was certainly good.More
