I've been a regular visitor to coffee st for a few years now and having been the biggest Costa fan I can tell you the food and drinks in this place is miles ahead of Costa. I've just read 2 reviews here titled " Bad customer service" and " Halfway stop" 😂😂 now I've read some stories in my time but these 2 are worthy of Dickens. 1 stated that no menu was presented so had to guess what was on offer. Oh really? There is a huge menu on the wall so that is utter tripe. Got the order wrong, well everyone makes mistakes no matter where you are. I'm certain it was rectified. And then complaining about the price of £6.75 for a sandwich and a drink well the equivalent in a chain Coffee shop would be more expensive. As for bad customer service and claiming to be ignored i know that to be total B.S the staff are ALWAYS friendly and courteous, yes they can be busy so probably don't roll out a red carpet for every customer but never once have i felt that my existence was not acknowledged maybe that says more about you than the staff. So if you want to give your business to a faceless multi million pound company that dishes out mediocre, expensive factory made products then knock yourself out. I prefer to support an independent business that serves great quality, freshly made food. If anyone is looking for a great luttle coffee shop in this area with fresh food i recommend COFFEE ST highly.

Moved to Manvers recently and this is the only place to go. Great proper fresh coffee. Home made quality cooked food- not just franchise heated food like Costa etc. Esp their breakfasts. Lovely waiting staff who are super friendly.
I cannot recommend highly enough.

We have been going to Coffee St for over 2 years now. The staff are friendly and there's always a good and tasty choice of food and drinks, both hot and cold.
Handy for parking and if it's a sunny day you can sit outside.
Well worth trying.

We’d been here twice before a few years ago and couldn’t remember why we hadn’t ever gone back, remembered today it’s because the staff don’t have an inch of hospitality in them and the wait times are absolutely ridiculous. We were told a wait time of 25 minutes for our food, it ended up coming out 50 minutes later and two couples who came in 30 minutes after us got their food first! The young girl taking orders is quite frankly just dopey and doesn’t listen to you, which is evident because the drinks orders came out wrong, she didn’t tell us a price and just shoved the card machine at me. The food was actually okay, but definitely not worth the hassle. I can see from other comments this just seems the standard practice for this place and nothing at all has changed in years so they obviously just don’t care.

Looks very nice great looking breakfast
Unfortunately told at least a 30 mins wait for something as simple as a bacon sandwich.
Settle on a cup of Tea and a fruit scone which was good loose leaf tea in a t-pot proper English tea.
This experience was then spoilt by the waiter/server vigorously spraying the adjacent table with cleaning fluid.
Dontthey teach them anything about table service now days.

Ordered breakfast and waited 30 minutes before noticing people who came in after me were getting their breakfasts. Asked where mine was and was eventually told there had been a mix up and another customer had already devoured my breakfast. Usually this is not a problem, I'm pretty easy going; however, I sat right in front of all the staff with a Fanta Orange and no one thought, I'll ask this bloke if he has ordered anything else. When the mistake was discovered, it would have been nice to have been offered a free tea or coffee as way of an apology. The breakfast was OK, sausage and bacon obviously re heated not cooked from fresh. Previous visit with my wife who is Vegan was met with a sorry we don't have a vegan menu. How hard is it to do beans on toast, with mushrooms or tomatoes or have something they could tussle up. After all Vegans no make up a substantial part of society. Used to be great when it first opened but not anymore.

Me and my girlfriend were looking forward to visiting as the reviews were overall positive and we happened to be passing, it seemed nice as we walked in and ordered breakfast as we hadn’t eaten yet. The food took an entire hour to come to us which for beans on toast with a sausage and egg on toast was absolutely appalling, we could see into the kitchen from where we were sat and could actually see out half plaited op breakfasts sitting on the side for around half an hour. One of the other main things that aggravated me was the fact a family of 4 and a few other guests that had arrived after us and ordered well after us had their food and were gone before we even had ours. The food was alright if not a bit cold having been sat on the side for half an hour but I digress. The worst part about the whole experience was after we had FINALLY eaten we asked to speak to a supervisor or manager about the ridiculous wait time hoping for at least a part refund for this appalling experience however asking for this got us a disinterested response followed by the manager is too busy to speak to anyone even though at this point the café was almost empty considering it was now late into the afternoon, cowards behaviour. To summarise it should’ve been a nice experience that was absolutely ruined by poor service and I would not go here again.

Came in to the cafe because I saw it on my way back from my meetings, everything looked really nice and the lady that served me was nice too. After I ordered I sat next to the door to do some work on my laptop. As soon as I got set up a man shouted across and said laptop area is over there. Didn’t question it so I just moved.
Fast forward about 10 minutes, when he came over to give me my coffee I POLITELY asked him if I could move because the stools didn’t support my back and I have a back injury. He replied ‘no, this area is for the laptops and I can’t treat you any different to anyone else’.
I didn’t even ask Carry on asking if I could move, I only asked ‘how come’.
Anyways, I told him there was no need to be rude to me, I was only asking a question.
Food came, tasted bad as I could feel his eyes at the corner of my head staring at me every time he walked passed. I left slot of my food so I could just leave.

Menu changed completely and it's not the best. Very disappointed, can see them loosing a lot of business as you now have to build a breakfast from a base of £5.75, if you wanted what was on a full English it would be over £12. Heard other similar views , hope they will listen to the customers!! Don't change what isn't broken.

Fab food, excellent choice of beverages, friendly accommodating staff who work hard despite the difficult circumstances. We visit weekly and nothing is too much trouble. They have done everything to make your visit safe and enjoyable. Get yourself in for a visit!

Been here a few times now, and overall staff are friendly and there are plenty of options for food and drink.
Most occasions when we have come here the food and coffee (especially the coffee) are really, really nice. However every now and then (like most cafes) there has been times when the food and drink has been lower than the standards normally set by this cafe.
I would recommend this cafe to others as it is a really nice place to come for a good breakfast and a coffee.

Walked in 3 staff members all had their backs turned to us and then continued to walk into the back without even acknowledging us they could see us stood looking confused regarding seating menus etc. We had to make it look proper obvious to be served. They got our order wrong and fast service normally isn’t a problem but it’s slightly concerning when the coffees and food come together within 3 minutes of ordering. Clearly not freshly made food. I ordered eggs Benedict and I can honestly say I enjoyed it more from weatherspoons. Disappointing and over priced for the food and service we received.

I have been coming here for coffee morning with friends since it opened and found the coffee here is so good, food is served hot and staff are welcoming. Tried other cafe's in the area but none can match this. Friendly atmosphere .

Visited for a late breakfast and have to say we were massively disappointed. We ordered at the counter and the assistant did nothing but yawn. We were told the bill was 14.10 then she yawned and said sorry 17.10. She seemed reluctant to open a bottle if drink.
There were no napkins left on counter and non came with the food. All in all very disappointing and we will be reluctant to visit again 😟😟😟

First time been here for a while. Cold inside. Fancy computerised till for ordering so why 35minutes for food. Nice coffee. Sausage sandwich and poached egg on toast. Not really busy. Looking at previous comments waiting time is a issue.
