A gift card from friends to this great place found us celebrating our anniversary with something new. Loved the atmosphere, right off the bat! Excellent service- attentive without being pesky, informative, and genuinely nice. My pear martini was pure bliss in a glass, and both of our entrees and sides were beautifully presented, plentiful, and really delicious. Thinking we just... More

The ambiance can't be beat. Our server was perfect. Had the cabbage rolls as apps, which were very good. I had butternut squash ravioli, which overall was good but a bit overpowered by the walnuts. My husband had the ribeye; the meat was well prepared on a bed of fried potatoes, which were quite salty. My husband is always on... More

We've been going to 300 First for many years and have always felt they were a consistent and high quality restaurant. Not tonight. The service was outstanding as usual. Friendly wait staff and attentive. The tomato basil soup was luke warm although still tasty. The filet Wellington was definitely not to the level they're known for. It was prepared to... More

We dined at 300 First on July 10 for a birthday celebration. For a couple of us, it was our first time at this restaurant. The atmosphere/décor is interesting; darkly lit, wood accents, open grill... Menu items mostly $20-40 per entrée. For the price I expected more for flavor, quality and presentation. Sadly I was not impressed. I had the... More

This may be the way it is prepared in Minnesota, but still really good. Just tell them to hold the pepper. Very tasty Bruschetta as an appetizer. Menu is not large so suggest you go there with an idea what you want. They also have something called a gyro pizza...did not try, but saw other orders of it. (Not your... More

I recently ate dinner here with several colleagues after a late day meeting and had a great time. We had drinks in the lobby seating area while we waited for everyone to join and I was happy to see they had Bells porter on draft. Once we got seated we ordered some random apps for the table and the calamari... More

My wife and I have travelled to Rochester MN every 3-4 since 2012. We have eaten EVERYWHERE! Yes Chesters, Pescara, Victoria's, Half Barrel, Terza, are all great restaurants; however 300 First at 44th is a travesty. We had two delicious appetizers wild mushroom canapé and crab cakes along with two specialty martinis made expertly by Jenn the great bartender. She... More

Spent a couple months and several return trips to Rochester in the past 10 months. Pretty much ate everywhere downtown and this place was the best by a mile. The wait staff was fantastic, great atmosphere, and the food was outstanding. The cheesecake for desert topped off a great experience. We have dined here on three different occasions and each...
