Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had an excellent meal at the Texas Roadhouse restaurant in Rochester, MN. We were seated quickly and soon after had fresh, warm buns with honey butter, peanuts, water, and an IPA. They had no IPAs on tap, but when my husband asked, they had...Surly Furious in a can. Lando(n), our fabulous waiter, brought out a frosty mug. Larry had a steak salad, and I had the salmon with mashed potatoes, dark gravy, and a side salad. We both said we'd order our meals again and look forward to returning to the Texas Roadhouse in Rochester.More

Not only did we get shoved into corner booth, but it took forever to get a water refill and our order taken. We asked for a 2nd basket of bread since it was 3 in our party and we hadn't eaten since 8 in the...morning. I thought if I ordered a burger that would be an easy task. Unfortunately I received what looked like a charred hockey puck and dried old grease tasting steak fries with dry cheese and bacon bits. No mayo mustard or ketchup on that burger either. I took one bite and that was all. I took the food home for the dog since the waitress was never around to ask for anything. My husband flagged her down at one point but she brought out a container the size of a soup bowl of mayo out. As if to make fun of us. It seems like the last few times we've been there the food and service get worst each time.More

Friendly people at front desk and server. We both had more food than we could eat. Bone-in ribeye tasted good as well as slab ribs with that Texas BBQ taste. But, the downside was we were billed an extra $0.15 on our visa card, compared...to the bill that we took home, and what we signed at check out. $0.15 is not a lot, but it is a very crooked way to treat customers, unless you don't want them to come back again, and to give you a better rating.More

Refused to seat us because we were waiting on one person for a party of three. They were not crowded and plenty of available tables. Kept harping on their policy. Never been treated like this before at any Roadhouse before. Told us we didn't have...to eat here. Good old Rochester MN. Will use our gift cards and not bother to return. They don't give a crap. Apparently.More

Wall to wall people but the food was good. You won't walk away hungry! Good portions. We got stuck in a back corner where the people from the next table were crammed in so tight they had to slide over onto our bench seats when...they would come and go. We went on a Saturday night so the crowds might be lighter on other nights.More

The manager/owner, Zach, at the Rochester location is awful. His attitude towards his employees and customers is terrible. Give him your name and just ask him how far down you are on the list and from his very annoyed and snotty reply of “Umm, Who?”,...you will see exactly what I mean. It just gets worse from there. He has zero customer service skIlls, and he orders everyone around like they are beneath him. He is exactly what is wrong with today’s world. Plus, he’s the owner-so there’s nothing you can do about it. How sad.More

We stopped in around 4:15 PM. We waited about 5 minutes before being seated(not a bad wait time). No one came to our table, so after 15-20 minutes, I flagged down an older lady and let her know we had not seen our server. She...graciously brought our drinks. In the mean time, two more tables were seated in our area. Both tables ordered before our waiter FINALLY got to us. We did get some rolls, eventually. Waiter came by and asked how everything was. I said the rolls are great......Way too long a wait for ordering and recieving our meal.....a manager came by and asked how we were doing. I let him know how bad the service had been. Will not be back to this particular Roadhouse again. Second time eating there, second time being very, very disappointed in service.More

I was getting back into town after working all day and phoned to order take out from TX Roadhouse. Evidently they can only accept the phone number of the phone you are calling from which I thought seemed strange. I asked for a baked potato...for one of my sides. I was told that they were out of baked potatoes for the evening. This was at 5:30 pm!!! When I arrived and went to the freezing pick up area the food still wasn't ready and the music was playing so loud that you coudn't communicate with the order taker person. I was told to go sit in my car and they would send a text when the food was ready. The food was okay but there was no roll or bread included with the meal although there were 2 containers of butter with the food. Not impressed at all!!More

We were greeted by the rudest greeter named Jose. She was the typical power tripping hostess. I had 5 ladies all over the age of 80 waiting for a table. But, because our entire party of 7 had not arrived, they would not seat us....Plus, they had no chairs for any of them to sit on. (2 women are in their 90’s). The hostess, Jose, kept telling my mother to stand back from her booth when she would enquirer about sitting down. After we were seated, our waitress was equally condescending. I know older people can be trying and need more time. Not 1 of our dishes from our meal was bused We started to pile them at the end of the table and finally asked our waitress if they had a bus boy. She said yes and sent the young many that had been standing next to our table the whole time. So crazy. He quickly cleared the dishes. So confused why he had not done it earlier. I think the food was very good, but I found the staff so rude and it was stressful to deal with I can not recommend this restaurant. I ate here maybe 10 years ago when they first opened and had issues then. I had hoped for better. Not going back.More

Like certain underachieving TX football teams, Texas Roadhouse must have fans just because of the name recognition thinking it's supposed to be good. This place seemed like a torture chamber for the staff, having to wear "I love my job" shirts and faux smiling about...their 'hand-cut' steaks. They had to keep reminding us the steaks were hand cut. Whatever... Do we want to buy TX Roadhouse gift cards? Heck no! They hustled though, they were overwhelmed. The food was mostly horrid, the steaks being one of the worst waste of a cow I have ever eaten. The rib eye was flavorless, tough, and boring (but cooked a proper medium rare to order). Was it fried with no seasoning? Not sure. It doesn't matter if James Beard himself hand cut the steak, if its a mediocre quality steak cooked the way it was it will still be a bad experience. The steak fries - crispy but were mealy and nasty. No salt and pepper on the table, so had to find some to make the meal edible - which is a bad thing because you shouldn't need to after-spice a steak with salt. I thought the salad was ok, and the bread was ok but we had to nag the server to get some. Tried some of my partner's pulled pork, which was dry and just tasted smokey instead of a good BBQ. Stick with Chesters or Pitts. blue for better steaks.More

Came in around 4 p.m. while here in Rochester on business. Been a Texas Roadhouse's in other cities before, so I knew what to expect. The dining room in this one was open as long as you are socially distanced. They put me up at...the bar where there was no one else eating so I felt I was safe. Service was excellent steak was made to order just as I requested and staff was friendly and helpful. We'll be back.More

Wow - visited here twice this week while in town for Mayo Clinic. Only came back 2nd time because of the quality of the first visit. I didn’t order anything fancy just 8 oz sirloin and both times best steak I’ve had in years. Seasoned...perfectly - cooked perfectly - unbelievably tender. Sat at the bar for my second trip and manager delivered my food and took an interest in what I thought (before I laid on the compliments). Staff extremely friendly and competent. Been a while since I’ve been to Texas Roadhouse but never any this good.More
