Food was good - Nothing Great - Portions were decent. Service was slow-had to go and pay for the bill, couldn't locate our server.
The Canadian Honker has consistently good food, a casual atmosphere, and is very convenient to St. Mary's Hospital. They also have a bar, if you want a drink or a glass of wine. Their catering service is awesome, as well.
When you see Canadian Honker Restaurant from the street, it's hard to figure out just what "level" of restaurant this is. When you walk in, it's still a bit hard. My son and his girlfriend who have lived here for 6 months recommended this place. TripAdvisor reviews called it one of the best. There was no wait for a 6 p.m. walk-in on a Tuesday in January. The server was prompt friendly and attentive. My wife and I both thought the walleye sandwiches were very good.
Breakfast: Eggs Benedict and hash browns. Very good. Ordered the hash browns well done and they were perfect. Eggs, muffinc, canadian bacon and hollandaise were very good. Service was really attentive. Would recommend!
We were in Rochester for a Mayo Clinic visit. We stayed near this restaurant. We had lunch and a dinner. They have a great kids menu at a reasonable cost. Adult meals were very good as well. They had daily specials and In the winter offered seasonal lattes.
American eatery known for their presence in Rochester. The Walleye is native. Watch for All You Can Eat options. They have a full service menu: gluten free options. Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. They can accommodate a large crowd with a little notice. Portions are good size. Price is right and the atmosphere is nice... More
