We usually try to have a meal here any time we are in Starkville. This trip was no exception. I had the pulled pork sandwich and my wife had jambalaya. Both were excellent. This is a very popular place, so it can get crowded. But...More

The food is good. Service is ok. It is busy and parking can be an issue if you need to be close and not able to walk from the gravel lot.

Definitely a must-go in Starkville. Their reputation is built on the pork bbq but my favorite is the blackened catfish - best I’ve ever had! All the sides are great, especially the corn salad, baked beans and onion rings.

The Little Dooey is as part of the Starkville experience as tailgating at the Junction or attending a football game at Davis Wade. It is always busy but well worth the wait. The BBQ is amazing but what most folks miss is the fresh Pork...More

Great Bar B Que.! We ate out back on the porch and avoided the large game day crowd inside. The food was the same, the drinks were the same but the price and crowd were 1/2.

Description
Fun is a family recipe. Originating in Starkville, Mississippi, The Little Dooey™ has become the most popular barbeque destination in the region, attracting regular, local diners and guests from all over the country. The menu was created around the time-honored recipes and sauces of the founders, Margaret Ann , Barry & Bart Wood. The name for the restaurant is also a Wood Family tradition where “a little dooey” means a fun gathering of friends and family. The Wood’s began The Little Dooey™ in 1985, by serving their homemade barbeque and sauce at a local service station. The response from customers was overwhelming, and soon the growing local demand for their delicious food prompted them to open the first restaurant in Starkville which became an instant success. The Wood’s credit their accomplishments to their family, friends and dedicated staff who set The Little Dooey™ apart, making it a comfortable and fun place to eat. Don’t forget to pick up some sauce! Or, call us to order your favorite.
