Catfish heaven. Quirky, down home atmosphere. Live entertainment. A 15-minute drive from Oxford, MS. Highly recommended.

It's a regular stop for locals and visitors alike. The Hewletts are top-notch hosts, and there's regular entertainment that's worth paying for. The catfish fillets are No. 1 and get however much you think you can hold. Steaks a solid, and there are good options for the little ones. It might not look like much from the outside, but you'll... My family and I were traveling into Oxford, MS fairly late and needed to make some dinner plans. We checked the website and learned that Taylor Grocery stayed open until 10pm so that was our choice. We arrived at 9:00 and were greeted coldly by a hostess that was apparently ready to go home. However, our server was very friendly... More
Great food but a long wait for a table. I recommend going after 8 if you do not want to wait over an hour for a table. The gumbo was one of the best I have had. Catfish was also one of the best I have had.
The ambiance of Taylor Grocery is unique with graffiti on the walls. They often have live music to add to the laid back, ramshackle approach. The service is excellent with everyone very friendly, making one feel at home. The fried catfish is out of this world.
Short wait, excellent food and service, BUT stay clear of the over weight owner's daughter--she'll a real "B". Ruined the entire meal.
Really amazing atmosphere. Quaint small town, and wonderful hush puppies. I'd go for the hush puppies alone. The grilled catfish is good but very salty. Don't go here on a diet- but the "side" salad is quite large! Make sure your WHOLE party is there before you ask to be seated. Go for the wait, and enjoy the time with... More
The name come from the town. Taylor is a tiny neighboring town of Oxford. Plan on waiting. There are many reviews saying the long wait is worth the experience. We were told on arrival that our wait would be a bit over two hours, and it was. Worth it? It is not. It’s fried catfish, y’all. Fried catfish with fried... More
