Am in bed there as I type...very small double bed, tiny shower room with a toilet that makes a racket when flushed... Room is clean but up three flights of stairs & very poky,at £65per night without breakfast it's not good value for money.

We have been regular customers here over the years but sadly the food has gone down hill drastically. Tonight however, I have to say, was the worse meal I have had in a long time, anywhere. I was going to write about each individual meal;...More

Went in for impromptu evening meal. Sat at table for 30 seconds before deciding to leave. The music was unbearable and the smell of old chip fat overwhelming. Previous visits had revealed below par food and poorly kept beer. Should have learnt our lesson!

A lovely traditional pub to go for food after a canal walk. Fresh homemade food, delicious pies, full of meat and proper chunky chips. Warm welcoming atmosphere. Would definitely recommend if in the area.

We stayed here for one night and on entering the bar area, it had a cosy feel with the fire burning away and quite friendly locals. The bar lady showed us to our room which was clean but freezing cold. We returned to the bar...More

Stopped off for a drink whilst walking along the canal. Always a good sign when plenty of locals in. Good selection of beers and although did not eat the menu looked good and tables were clean.

The cooking here is much better than standard pub fare. As well as the standard menu there are always specials available. Prices are very reasonable in relation to quality and portion size. Food was excellent overall. The homemade sticky toffee pudding wasn't sticky - more...More

Hi John, We haven't actively asked for the removal of anything in particular, we have requested some of the heavy rock/metal genres be removed because I don't think they really fit the nature of a country pub. The system... More

Not sure about times I know they are open every lunch as we always go at lunch time, as it's also a b&b think the pub is open all day. Menu is traditional pub grub with specials each day
