We arrived after 3pm on a bank holiday Monday and the pub was very busy with people eating which is positive as a new customer. The food arrived quick and was delicious, no complaints out of 8 meals. The price was extremely reasonable. Menus were...More

Visited for lunch after walking with our dog, very dog friendly and pleasant surroundings. We ordered fish finger sandwiches, chips and a chicken wrap. All well presented and tasty, typical pub grub.

Fantastic steak pie and chips great hearty meal !!! Children not allowed in main bar area which is a real positive when compared with some pubs in the area that let children run wild. Definitely worth the trip up the hill from Calver ! Can’t...More

Loved the atmosphere and the welcome Price of lunch seemed expensive until I saw how huge the portion was. (Half portions could be offered!)

I was there as part of a larger coach group which always is a bit different with the pre-ordering of food and timing of having everything ready at the same time. The pub had a small but good selection of beers and the food was...More

Good hearty food, friendly staff. Good range of quality pub food with a different sized meals to cater for those with smaller appetites. There is the standard menu plus the specials board. You won't go away hungry.

Visited on Saturday lunchtime. Very friendly service. We had the pie, chips and mushy peas, and fish, chips and peas. Lovely meal- small portion of pie was plenty. Sorry to see some poor reviews- not deserved at all.

We visited this pub recently just before 6pm. I went in to order some drinks and encountered a barman who was tidying the bar area and generally bimbling around as I stood at the bar. I assumed he was going to finish his tidying up...More

Hello, I’m sorry you felt ignored but because we don’t open until 6pm it was most probable that he was getting ready to open as fast as possible as well as presuming you had been told by another member of staff as the door sign...More
