The Red Cow is an old pub in a little village. Excellent service, wonderful food. The only point are the ceiling. If you are 6ft plus watch your head

Absolute gem. There is such a beautiful atmosphere and great ambiance. Staff very friendly and well worth a visit. Want to try the food next time

Good food. Friendly atmosphere. Regular music acts in the bar. Real ales always good. It is nice to have a good pub with food within walking distance of home.

Found this pub in The Good Pub Guide whilst in the locality. The description was accurate-which is not always the case. Thatched low building with lovely timbered interior, Nice conventional pub grub at reasonable prices. Four hand pulled beers including excellent Adnams Best,

2 beautifully cooked steaks, hand cut chips, proper onion rings, and a bottle of red to share. Excellent food, great ales and a cosy atmosphere, highly recommend the Red cow.

Fantastic pub restaurant. Enjoyed their pie and chips. A proper pie with pastry top sides and bottom. Delicious and very filling. Lovely beer on tap Helpful and friendly staff.

Description
Quintessential English, thatched country pub. Heavily beamed and roaring fires. A warm friendly welcome is extended to all. We happily welcome well behaved dogs in the bar. There is a range of real ales and lagers as well as cider on tap as well as a comprehensive wine list to accompany your meal. We have a seasonally changing menu and daily specials are available for every taste. All freshly cooked to order. All dietary requirements are easily catered for, please just ask and our chef will accommodate. A beautiful north Essex village the pub is the highest in Essex and situated on the Icknield way walking route. Cyclists and walkers are welcome. Please book ahead to secure your table.
