Hadn't been here for a long time so didn't know quite what to expect. I also never complete reviews of places we visit. but felt in this case I just had to. The friendly, efficient service, ambience and incredible food didn't disappoint. The vegetarian dish...was gorgeous. Will DEFINITELY revisit. Fantastic from beginning to end. Wonderful welcome, superb food, service excellent but most of all great hospitality from the management. Love this place, warm and friendly with excellent tasty food. Popped in today with a muddy Labrador (as usual) always a friendly welcome by the excellent staff. I tried the Lunch special (soup and sandwich £10) this really didn’t disappoint. The sandwich was delicious with...lovely soft bread and the soup was really top notch. Outstanding food. Excellent menu . Really friendly and organised staff. Very clean. The chilli king prawn risotto was the best I have ever had ! I’ve had a few but this was exceptional. Everything is beautifully presented and tastyMore

This was a wonderful find when we were holidaying in the Pennines. Found it by chance, had coffee and liked it so much we went back twice. Fish and Chip supper and then the next week for their Pork Tenderloin special. Which melted in your...mouth. The service was excellent, lovely, warm and friendly atmosphere. They kept their last two pieces of tenderloin for us, so we weren't disappointed. Highly recommended.More

Called in after a walk around Derwent Reservoir. Had Thai Chicken Curry and Sticky Toffee Pudding - both were delicious. Nice atmosphere in the pub, a decent pint, and the staff member I spoke to (Jeanette?) was very friendly and accommodating. Would definitely call in...again.More

We stayed here as we attended a wedding at Healey Barn. What a lovely place to stay. Natasha was so welcoming and the chef cooked us a delicious breakfast the next morning. The room was amazing with lovely views and a very comfortable bed. I...would highly recommend this for future stays and also the food and the most friendly staff. The inn had beautiful views, provided excellent food, catered for the four legged member of our family and the staff were very friendly and helpful We have no hesitation in recommending this an excellent choice and hope to stay again next year.

Super friendly staff and very quick service. The food was absolutely delicious and all fresh! Lots of meals to choose from as well as weekly specials. This is our 2nd time visiting and will most definitely be back again!

We passed the Manor House on our way to an artists retreat and called in with hungry stomachs and thirsty lips. Well let me tell you we were hugely impressed. We each had a restorative pint which tasted like nectar of the gods then it...was to the menu we looked. As artists we all agreed that the well filled plates on arrival at the table looked like they had been drawn by the hand of a genius painter. And the quality of the food was second to none. Every single one of use asked where the chef sourced his vegetables as their freshness and taste was beyond compare. The meat was cooked to perfection and again of superb quality. We enjoyed our visit so much we returned the next night which was tremendous again and we will call in on our way home with a view to painting the pub from a few different angles and sampling the delights of the menu once again. It is so good a painting of it deserves a place in a gallery.More
What a wonderful little treasure, their Sunday lunch is amazing we went with the lamb and what can one say. The meat was beautiful cooked and super tender and not fatty in anyway. The range of vegetables was huge and that Yorkshire pudding was like...a two storey building. Would highly recommend a visit.More

Great staff very welcoming. Room well presented with great view over the moors The biggest prize however is the food! Cooked by the owner from locally sourced supplies it was an eye opener as was breakfast Can recommend highly enough
