Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We booked a table for 11 which included my 2 grandsons under 5 on a Sunday at 12.30. The staff were excellent. We all had either Sunday roasts or other main meals, the 2 grandchildren had chicken nuggets, the food did take a while to...arrive but was really lovely. We could not fault the service and it was certainly value for money. As the sun was honing we ventured into the garden which was ideal for the 2 grandchildren who loved playing in the play area. Would certainly recommend this pub.More

We went for Sunday lunch. I asked if the sirloin was tender. Yes, well cooked. So no chance of rare. No. So I ordered the leg of lamb. Big mistake. Tough meat, soggy Yorkshire pud and tinned or frozen tiny carrots!! Did not stay for...puds or coffee. The starters by the way were great! Overall not a great experience.More

We had a great lunch at the Coach, 7 old work mates who hadn’t seen each other for up to 20 years. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The service fast and efficient, the food quality high and portion sizes generous. The prices were more...than reasonable especially given the above.More

I visited this pub with family, a group of six on a Sunday lunch. We all had roast, whether it was chicken, lamb, beef or nut and all enjoyed it very much. We all had a pudding and can personally recommend the sticky toffee which...was gorgeous. Good food, good service, good company.More

We went there for dinner and the food was good, the service was ok, the place was clean, it is a bit noisy, we would probably visit again.

Small pub with a cosy atmosphere. Menu isn’t Wetherspoons cheap; on par with Harvester pricing. Fortunately I can happily report the food was worth the price. We had a regular burger with fries and ‘slaw and lamb kofte burger. Both were handmade burgers which were...delicious. Atmosphere is what you expect from a pub. Good seating. Didn’t see the toilet facilities. Staff were helpful and pleasant. Also seemed a place that catered and welcomed children. We will return.More

Really disappointed in our visit. The garden desperately needs updating. I ordered the roast beef and the beef was inedible, thick slices and overcooked I couldn’t even cut it and it was drowned in gravy. The potatoes, Yorkshire and stuffing were not freshly made. My...mum had the pork belly which was dry and difficult to cut. Such a shame as lovely location.More

My wife and I were part of a 20-strong Walking Group which arranged for lunch at this pub after our group walking event, this location in the past being a regular venue for such events at this time of year. Prior to the start of...the walk at 10.15 the manager was given the choices required from the lunch menu, to be provided from 12.30. At this time it was made clear that our own personal selections should be made available immediately we arrived (which was indeed at 12.30) due to the fact that we had an urgent appointment in London during the afternoon. When we arrived we made it clear to the bar waitress once again that our meal should be served asap and before any of the others so that we could get away quickly. At 13.10 when nothing had arrived I spoke to the manager who was completely disinterested in the matter, not even offering to go to the kitchen to find out the reason for the delay. At 13.20 my wife spoke again to the manager who replied that the chef was plating-up all the meals which was totally at varience with what we had requested on three occassions. His only solution was far from apologizing for the extreme delay to us and all the other members of our party and taking action to speed-up delivery of the orders, but to offer a refund for our own meals which we were by then unable to have due to lack of time. We left the pub at 13.30 at which time not a single part of the orders for the remaining customers in our party had been delivered even though they had been pre-ordered at 10.15 that morning and confirmed at 12.30! What we found the most insulting was the manager's complete lack of interest or apology for failing to provide a level of service to be expected at any restaurant. As far as we are concerned we shall not grace this venue again and I doubt if the Walking Group will do so either. If such behaviour and lack of interest in customers' welfare, especially for a party of 20 customers for a mid-week lunch, is of no concern to the owner of this business, then its future as a viable and profitable enterprise is surely in serious question.More

I was with a large group of friends who had pre-ordered our food to avoid having to wait too long but we still had to wait nearly an hour for the food to be served after we arrived and bought drinks. When it arrived my...meal of loaded fries was substantial but it was spoilt by being too salty and the addition of bacon didn't help. The chips were covered with chilli sauce which made them very soggy. I also had a bit of macaroni in with the chips which I suspect belonged in another dish. Overall a disappointing experience which was surprising considering other times we have dined there and found no problem. I'm not sure we will be going back there.More

Our 17 strong walking group came for lunch after a bluebell walk - we chose our meals and gave in the list of what we wanted at 10 a.m., advising them we would be there at 12.30 to eat. Even though this had been the...arrangement when we made our booking, the male staff member told us unpleasantly we should have told them our order days before. A number of pies had been ordered by walkers, and although our phone no was given to them we were not advised that these were not available until we returned to the pub and we then had to make another choice. One couple had asked to be served first as they wanted to leave by 1.30. Although they had been told at 10 am this would be fine, 45 minutes after arriving to eat no food had come out so they made an enquiry and the male bar staff was very offhand, bordering on rudeness, and said the kitchen was too busy to prepare their meals first. They left without eating. The rest of us waited an hour before any food appeared, even though they had our order at 10 a.m. and knew we would be there to eat at 12.30 pm. At least 6 of the main meals were not nice at all and 2 inedible. The fish and chips were so overcooked the batter could not be cut - they offered to cook another but after waiting another 20 minutes, our friend left and the replacement fish and chips came out another 10 minutes later. The staff did not seem to care less that things had been so unsatisfactory - it’s such a shame as they have a large restaurant which should be able to cater for a big group and our walking group has used the Coach and Horses before having made arrangements with a very pleasant lady, who wasn’t there at this time unfortunately! We will not be using this pub again.More

Our Sunday lunch was very pleasant. One of us is a vegetarian and vegan meatball spaghetti was truly delicious! However the desserts let us down in our opinion. The vanilla ice cream was not very nice and the sticky toffee pudding was awful unfortunately. Perhaps...they sourced it from elsewhere we don’t know. Such a shame, it would otherwise have been perfect with lovely attentive staff too.More
