Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We're so pleased to hear that you had a fantastic dining experience with us.
Disappointing. The menu looked appealing but presentation and execution poor. Goats cheese ‘tart’- a slice of cheese on a slice of badly cooked pastry. Sirloin steak- badly cooked, fatty with soggy chips. Cold in the conservatory and very slow service. Almost an hour to get...a bottle of warm champagne on our arrival.More

Out of all the reviews spanning service and food quality average is right. Another review posted it’s trying to act above its station, which is a little unfair but it does lack somewhat.More

Woah! It’s not very often that I am blown away with changes, but the conversion of the old Blacksmiths pub to a welcoming local hostelry with fine dining was a truly remarkable surprise. The place retains it’s position in the heart of the Barrow community...whilst offering a friendly and welcoming spirit for visitors. The well considered menu caters admirably for the discerning diner along with old favourites, all reasonably priced given the standard of fayre. Friendly staff and amiable locals add to the overall welcoming ambiance. We thoroughly enjoyed, and can highly recommend, the Blacksmiths to all who happen upon it. Worth a trip from neighbouring towns / cities too - you will not be disappointed!More
I am a regular visitor to The Blacksmiths Arms The food is always high quality and excellent. Booking in advance is always advised though.
Booked this without having a clue where we were going! Was not disappointed one bit. Great good. Lovely gastro pub.
We celebrated my son’s 21st and nephew’s 18th with our large family here. The staff went out of their way to ensure we had a wonderful and memorable meal. The food was superb, excellent cocktails and great service. We couldn’t have asked for more. All...members of the family commented on what a super restaurant this is and also how reasonably priced considering the quality of the food. The menu was also great for catering to the tasted of older family members as well as teens. In my opinion, one of the best Sunday lunches in Leicestershire.More
We booked here for 18 of us to celebrate my mums 90th birthday. It was fantastic, food was amazing and plenty of it, room was great and staff incredibly friendly & helpful. We all had an amazing time for a very special celebration, thank you...all at the blacksmiths arms.More
Just come back from a lovely Sunday lunch. We booked a table and arrived a little early, but this was no problem, although we were tempted to have a drink in front of the roaring log fire in the bar area. The lunch menu had...a 2 course or 3 course price with both traditional and seasonal options. The pigeon breast with fig, parma ham, and blackberry was perfectly cooked and very tasty. The roast beef main course was also very tasty with a good compliment of vegetables, gravy, and an excellent yorkshire pudding. We shared a sticky toffee pudding between us for pudding, and this was also finished quickly - the sponge was very light, and the sauce was decadent! The service throughout was quick and friendly. This is how a sunday lunch should be, and we will definitely be back.More
had a fabulous night for my birthday, the food was excellent as was the service all for a very reasonable price,we will definitely be coming back.
