Stayed in the village and visited this restaurant twice as it was so good! Lovely fresh fish to share recommended by the waitress and puddings were super tasty! Great service with a good local atmosphere, thank you!

So special place. Low key, not on Main Street, but worth to try and enjoy a fresh fish. Opens for dinner at 6:30pm. Side door on the right side leads to the upper level. Ambiance is typical for the island, homey and bright. Service is...friendly and very efficient, exactly what we expected. Food was exemplary. Everything what we ordered was delicious. Fish soup, grilled fishes, Alfonsim Grelhado & Boca Negra Grelhado, served with boiled potatoes and sweet potato. We loved our wine choice, Mateus “Rose”. Definitely, you will get value for money spent. Highly recommended.More
Well, calling this restaurante a sea food restaurant is an overstatement! I know that they are dependent on the fish market, but still, the menu is short and the prices are really high! BTW, a restaurant in the Azores that doesn’t have beef but has...pork meat is really really strange!More
Food good fresh fiches. Clean and delicious staff friendly and helpful. Prices normally not too expensive. But we had a problem with found it.
Seemed a modest place to eat in, but after entering, the room was nice, the waiters friendly, and the food very well prepared. We did not like the first wine we have chosen, but the manager did not charged us for the bottle! Very nice,...go there.More
We found it only by chance and it was a miracle. Very hospitable and caring owner (probably) recommended grilled tuna and black scabbard with fresh white cheese as an appetizer. The cheese (queijo fresco) with pepper paste (pimenta da terra) was served with fresh bread....Excellent with a drop of olive oil. The fish arrived on one platter with supertasty boiled potatoes, some fresh tematoes, cucumbers, lettuce and seasoned onion (great!). Saying we were amazed wouldn't describe it enough. If You want fancy furniture and service in suits- it's not for You. If You want a true and delicious local experience - You should try this place !More
What a great find! Rather unassuming place with very fresh fish, delicious! Staff is quite friendly. Very affordable prices.
We came across this restaurant while exploring Porto Formoso. The restaurant we had planned to visit was closed and this was close by. I can't tell you how happy I was with that change in plans. The restaurant is simple and comfortable. The staff was...friendly and helpful. We started with the bread and fresh cheese with pimenta. The cheese was perfect with the spice of the pimenta on their delicious bread. We then ordered the Bife Espadarte Grelhado (grilled swordfish) and Lombo Bicuda Grelhado (grilled barracuda) and it was absolutely amazing. Served with three different types of potatoes. They created a platter for the group so that we could all try a little of each fish. The fish was so fresh (I think it was caught that morning) and was grilled to perfection. It really was one of my favorite meals to date. If you are in the area do yourself a favor and stop in. You will not be disappointed.More
We found this restaurant through trip advisor and ventured there twice for lunch. Fabulous fish soup! Each day brings a new selection of fresh fish cooked to perfection! We had barracuda... Something we would never find at home and probably never order of we did....Absolutely delicious. A little out of the way, but definitely worth a visit.More
We spent the day sightseeing and stopped here for lunch. The service was friendly and great. The food was typical Azorian. I had a pork dish with French fries and salad and it was delicious. My husband had fish and he said it was very...good. .More
familiar restaurant with warming service and amazing food. tried the fish soup and the fried “chicharros” and everything was really good. not fancy but the authenticity of the place it’s amazing
We looked for a place for lunch and this place came up first because of proximity, but it appears as if it is well known as it was pretty full with locals. They serve bread and some fresh cheese with pepper sauce as a couvert,...and the fish served are what the fishermen brought from the sea, we had a blue mouth rockfish and greater amberjack. The rockfish was whole and had very delicate white meat. The amberjack was much firmer meat. Both fish were grilled and came with some roasted vegetables and fries(as per our special request) It was an excellent lunch, very fresh and well prepared Service was also very good and our waitress was fluent in English and very niceMore
We stumbled upon this place and went back two more times. The menu is changing every day depending on what was caught. The food is very good quality, served without fuss, offeing fresh vegetables as a side. The staff is friendly and helpful. Would recommend...every timeMore
We happened to stumble upon this place after visiting the nearby tea plantation. When we walked in, we didn't see any tables and were confused and started to leave. The bartender stopped us and I'm glad he did! He directed us to the restaurant which...was upstairs. Our waiter was very kind and recommended a meat and a fish for us to split between the 2 of us. Delicious meal and nice, relaxed atmosphere!More
Covered terrace restaurant, one side open to street, second floor. Service somewhat slow but attentive just the same. Good, home made like meals,, no fancy nonesene. Good for kids, wide open space.
