Quite good but nothing special. Just like all other Fish and Chip shops all over Australia. A once off visit is sufficient.

This fish and chip shop is very unpretentious, almost looks deserted. It is very basic and is up for sale. Stopped here for our last lunch on Norfolk and ordered the local trumpeter with chips for two. Well, the serves were enormous and the fish was juicy and delicious served with old fashioned bush lemons from someone's garden. If this... More

Great fish and crispy chips, but calamari was best of all. Would have liked some takeaway salad choices but seemed to be a dearth of vegetables on the Island, for example, we searched high and low for tomato or lettuce - strange when this place is potentially so fertile.

Purchased chicken, fries and coleslaw. Too expensive in my view for what we got, but it all tasted okay.

We'd done the Island Fish Fry but found the kids were still hungry as not everything was to their liking. So a quick trip to the Fish and Chook shop was done. Had some chicken & chips and a chocolate shake, all tasting great, thanks for being open until 9pm.

You might have to wait a while for your order, but the Trumpeter and the ships are fantastic - crumbed or battered. Large serves. If two of you only have average appetites, you may get away with one server to share.

The trumpeter fish was really tasty.it was nice to have the choice of crumbed or battered fish. Lots of locals in the shop so obviously good quality.

You can get quite a range of takeaways here and satisfy a lot of different tastes. Chicken, burgers, fish, chips etc. always enjoyed whatever I got. Fish servings quite generous and local fish delicious.

The menu at The Fish & Chook Shop is very comprehensive, but once we made our decision it was just a short wait on a nearby bench. It was well-cooked, though we did miss out on our Tartare Sauce ordered and paid for, but as we didn't open our package until we were back at our room it was too... More
