Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Myself and my partner visit the Millgate regularly, reassured that we will be met with a smile and delicisious hearty meal, it’s always at the top of our list when we’re in the area. The pub has a great atmosphere suitable for everyone. Myself and...my partner like to dine alone in the restaurant then move into the main bar area afterwards to enjoy the evenings entertainment. Staff are always very polite and accommodating which has resulted in our return, even after we had moved out of the area! Thankyou, see you very soon.More

Family of five visited on Sunday, all had the carvery. The choice of meats and vegetables was good but almost everything except the gravy was just warm. The lamb was fatty and inedible. The price of the carvery is now a ridiculous £14.75 which is...more than other local carvery’s, at one time I thought it was worth it as you got a generous amount of meat, but the price and children running wild unsupervised and a cat trying to get on the table, it’s time to look for a new place for Sunday lunch.More

I came in for lunch with my grandma earlier this week and we was not welcomed what so ever, the red haired lady who served me was nothing but rude. I asked for no ice and a slice of lemon in my drink and she...huffed as thought it seemed like a great deal to her. Plates were then left there for over an hour before being taken away. In which in the meanwhile a cat came over, stood on the table and began to eat our leftovers. I say leftovers as the food was absolutely disgusting and quite clearly microwaved. The same lady at the bar just stood chatting and did not hesitate to come over and apologise or move our plates. Nothing but lazy staff and poor food.More

Came for a baby shower Friday evening and it was carnage. No bouncers… yet men were doing drugs in the toilets, and not one but three fights. My elderly grandma wanted to go out for a cigarette and was scared stiff, absolutely shocking we didn’t...even get an apology by management. If fact management were nowhere to be seen all night, staff was made to split up the fight just to be able to get it to the car park. This pub has gone down hill so much over the last few months. Will not be returning.More
