The restaurant was lovely and bright and clean. Service was good and the food delicious. We didn't have to wait long between courses and food arrived piping hot. Would definitely go again.

Lunchtime visit to this delightful pub! No mulled wine or cider, which was a little disappointing. But the roast beef lunch made up for it! Have to say it was the best roast I have ever had in a restaurant! Everything perfectly cooked and plenty of it! The service was friendly and professional. Can't wait to go back!

Thought with it being Christmas, things might be hectic, but the food was excellent and the service was fantastic. Couldn't eat all my food so waitress put it in foil, and made the shape of a turkey! Little things like that make this place special.

The atmosphere was excellent, plenty of room for people to easily move about. The food was excellent and large portions. The waitresses were marvellous and gave us all great service, friendly and they worked hard serving 51 people. We will definitely use The Bird in Hand next year for our Christmas lunch.

We visited this restaurant for our annual family get together. I was pleasantly surprised by the decor and general ambience of the place. Although it was a Saturday evening, it was not noisy and we were able to hold conversations without shouting. As we were eating from the Christmas menu, we had ordered our food in advance. Unfortunately, both my... More

Visited on a Sunday and was surprised at the lack of customers. Food was beautifully prepared and served and fit of toast. My daughter who is a vegetarian had a wide selection of meals which is unusual. Highly recommend this restaurant in formal dining

We had our works Christmas meal at Bird in Hand. Nice atmosphere, pleasant service. Food was excellent with large portions. If anything at all could be improved on, is to leave a bit of a gap between courses. It was rather rapid fire food. Seems rather nitpicking to moan that service was too quick! But when faced with a three... More

I have been here many times with friends and family and it has always been lovely. They are accommodating for children and have a good selection of beers on draught. It is slightly more expensive than we normally go for but their specials are always innovate and delicious I had the mango monkfish curry which was delicious and my husband... More
