Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A great find in the heart of Norfolk. Most businesses rise or fall on the calibre of their staff. This lovely pub restaurant in the heart of Norfolk near the village of Wreningham certainly rises with the happy efficient and very helpful staff that it...has surrounded itself with. The Bird in the Hand is an exceptional family run business. The rooms are adequate and clean. The pub and restaurant itself is large with many annexes and being near Christmas, beautifully decorated with Christmas trees and ornaments. The food is exceptional the portions very large. It was a real find and we are so glad we did.More

This was a special family night , the setting is good the facilities fine but alas I felt the staff were running it for their convenience. I definitely think they need to put on the website that they shut the bar at 10pm , residents...or not ! We were told in no uncertain terms it will shut and it did. It really took the edge off what is a decent place . Oh and make sure your clear about having side plates with your cheese board , they don’t seem to want to create to much washing up . Breakfast was good , service good.More

We’ve been coming here for years with our MX5 car club. They’ve always been very accommodating. Me and my wife booked in for a meal Friday night. The food was absolutley gorgeous, the service was quick and the staff were amazing! They couldn’t do enough...for you! Good food, great staff, a truly wonderful country pub and restaurant.More

Warm, welcoming & accommodating reception despite having no advance booking. Disappointingly average food at surprisingly high prices with quantity over quality of overly large portion sizes of ubiquitous ingredients. We ordered three starters, two mains (one without chips still over facing us!) & two puds...between three covers. Squid described as “stringy”, Asian dipping sauce “more fishy tasting”:than expected with a vegetarian’s Tempura Veg choice, Satay Chicken had a bite & was well cooked. Salad bases fresh & appealing. Chicken Burger “nothing special”, Wrap well stuffed with meat but “less firecracker more mayo” dressing carried less punch than the satay. Puds hearty - melting choc fondant the only reasonable sized portion on the table & sticky toffee slab (half the size & half the price would’ve felt more manageable!) with lashings of sauce & custard too much to handle. Two no n alcoholic drinks with two coffees still set us back £80! On the plus size Staff were all charming & cheerful - a special mention to our server on his first day & the lovely lady effortlessly running front of house. Thank you.More

Being new to Norfolk after recently relocating from Kent, three of us wanted a local place for lunch which could allow our small dog and The Bird in Hand fitted the bill. Food was lovely, staff were friendly and we had a great time. Thoroughly...recommended and will return.More

Lovely guest rooms with everything you would need. Conveniently located just a few minutes from Lotus HQ Beautiful beer garden for the sunshine, excellent quality of food but what stood out most for us during our stay was the fantastic service, friendly and welcoming staff...who despite being super busy have always got time to help and chat. Jan is wonderful and had a great sense of humour which made us feel at home. Thank you Jan & Jo for going above and beyond in helping us out. Matthew & AmandaMore

The food has gone downhill quite a bit so assume they have changed cooking staff or the love of food has gone. 1. The Steak and Ale pie should be renamed the pastry pie; so little steak in the pie and the pastry was virtually...inedible being a mix of solid hard pastry with soggy undercooked dough crust. 2. The steak although tender had very little flavour as it was drowned in a 'Bisto' style packet gravy hence the comment about the chef changing. 3. Vegetables were inconsistently cooked, carrots cooked to death while describing the broccoli as al dente would be understating its rawness. Again little flavour 4. Seafood Linguini was again more linguine and a ridiculous large portion ration of the pasta to little seafood content. Presumably to maximise profit. 5. Best looking food was the salad, but thats really hard to mess up, but again miserable portions of protein packed out with cheap salad. I small slice of salmon and some tinned shrimps which lacked flavour apart from salt. 6. Uninspiring winelist with huge mark ups from wholesale costs. Positive notes The bar staff and waitstaff were attentive and helpfulMore

5 of us visited for a family celebration meal. Service was excellent. The staff were all attentive and made sure we were well looked after. Menu was huge with lots of choice for all. I’m gluten free which was no problem. I enjoyed a crispy...beef in tempura batter on a bed of oriental veg and rice with sweet chilli dressing. Wine choice was great and well chilled. Highly recommend.More
