Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Fine dining restaurant adds to the whole hotel experience a lovely touch. Personally, I think there is a potential to have a Michelin star as well If desired by the owners and the team. The cooking style is seasonal, simple and focused to please not...only your pallet but all your senses. It reminds me a little bit of cooking of great British Chef William Drabble. However, if you prefer the more local and rustic way of dining, you may find the portions way too small, sophisticated and delicate. The wine cart to complement the simple menu offered low to mid-range priced bottles of the wines from their preferred winemakers. No big pricey names but rather more settle selection of the most desirable bouquets to meet demand.More

We were passing through the area and stayed in a local hotel in the main town of Dolny Kubin. The hotel we stayed in didnt have the best reviews for food (please see other review) so having looked online this place looked promising. Kastiel Kubini...has been renovated and looks great, from the outside, as we didnt have a look in the hotel itself. We were the only people here, which, as we found out might be a common occurrence. The interior was nice but we did not feel as though there was much atmosphere and it is a very large room. The service was a bit up and down, maybe through lack of practise and could have been smoother. One of my pet hates is the food in restaurants not looking like they advertise on their sites, and this was very much the case here. My wife and her friend had the fish and they were both very overcooked, we mentioned it at the time but nothing seemed to happen so not sure if the comment made it back to the kitchen. For what we got we found it expensive, at these prices everything needs to be more refined and it fell very short of this. Maybe we expected too much but we felt misled and wouldn't recommend.More

Waw, what a find! In beautiful setting of Castel Kubyini you can find one f the best restaurants in our country. Ambiente of restaurant is stunning, very luxury and cosy, but the dishes of Chef Barry are partly pieces of art, partly culinary heaven. And...all of this for prices, which we (people from capital Bratislava) can not believe in :-) The menu is short, but sharp. Only fresh and local products evaluated to high gastronomy. Honestly to say, if I did not try it, I can not believe. I wanted to try every thing, so I tried 3 apetizers, stunning mushroom broth, pigeon breasts with lentils and beef tartare another way. I do not know which way, but completely another I used to eat before. As main we had sirloin a la point, with perfect sauce and crockets. As the desert I had rosemary panacota. And now comes the best - Wine list. Generally, in Slovakia owners of restaurant want to ear money on alcohol, rising prices up to 500%. It makes me furious, when someone want to sell me 5 eur soave for 24 eur. I love Italy, and such a thing can not happened over there. Not In Amalia restaurant! Prices are very fair and fits the quality. You can find in wine list mainly Italian wines for very fair prices (believe me, I know what about I am talking)! Well, all of this can not be such amazing, if there were not really very well trained staff behind it. This could be the most important part. Service is simply perfect, all people want to serve you even earlier than you say what you want. All in all, we will for sure return back chef Barry Hartshorne. This restaurant belongs between my most favourite and is HIGLY RECOMMENDED!!!More
