Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

As a local cycling group we regularly drop in for a cup of tea/coffee and cake. Always a very friendly reception with very good coffee at very reasonable prices. It is run by volunteers so deserves our support. It is also on the Newent Cycling...Loop so pick up a map.More

Run by volunteers this shop is a wonderful tribute to the efforts of volunteers in the local community who run it. All the basic essentials plus a few extras. The shop also houses a no-nonsense cafe serving a range of snacks and drinks. And there’s...more! A collection of bric a brac vintage furniture and ceramics ( including kitchenalia).More

This is actually the village shop which has relocated to the local business park. As such it is in a large high roofed warehouse type building. It is very well laid out starting with normal shop produce near the entrance and then many tables set...out with crockery for tea, coffee & snacks consumption. Further back there is a selection of various pieces of quality furniture which are also for sale. The walls are hung with a nice selection of pictures - some of which were also for sale. I was apprehensive as I entered the business park area but it was a wonderful discovery once inside. It was a very hot day and I spent and enjoyable half hour sheltering from the sun sipping cups of tea from the pot of tea provided and enjoying the relaxing ambiance. Toilets are also available on site. A wonderful discovery of particular value to a touring cyclist!More

I attended the "Big Breakfast" at The Shop earlier this year and it was excellent. There was a wide choice of delicious hot and cold food at an "all in" price of £5 which included coffee or tea. The atmosphere was friendly and the cafe...area was spotlessly clean.More

Don't drive past it although it may be tucked away .really friendly staff.... Only had a toastie but it was one of the most moth watering ones that I had ever had the fortune to experience and the coffee was divine! No instant coffe, the...nicest ground coffee. The presentation of the cafè was lovely. Such a commuinty effort great to see! I would defentially recommend a visit and a browse around the rather large store which stocks just about everything you could ever want.More
