We knew nothing about Thunderhead Brewing before our visit. Now we consider ourselves lucky to have found it. The beer and root beer were tasty and the thin crust pizza was delicious. When visiting Kearney you should definitely make a trip to Thunderhead.

First off, it's hard to believe you can enjoy, (when on tap), voted the Best Beer in the World, and they have the World Cup to prove it! Pretty crazy, but true. This is by far one of the best breweries in the Midwest and beyond. The atmosphere is laid back and the staff is very knowledgeable. The pizza is... More

This is definitely a place to hang out and drink some good beer. They have samplers or you can get a pint. The food is good especially their pizzas. The Crop Duster IPA, Peach Wheat & Leatherhead are all excellent choices for beer. Inviting atmosphere and a great place to visit over a beer. They also have root beer and... More

We really enjoyed our stop here - the wood fired pizza was good and came out quickly, the server was attentive and the beer was cold. We will stop again when we are in the area.

Really enjoyed this place. Set on the second floor looking over the street. We ordered the Hula Hula and a couple craft beers. Really good oven brick pizza. Hawaiian taste with the perfect blend of sweet and spicy. Great craft beer. I recommend the Calico Expressco Stout for dark beer lovers. It rocks! Honestly would have gave this a 5... More

Good food; kind of the standard fare, nothing fancy, kind of noisy atmosphere, and nothing too unusual

Nice staff, excellent variety of beers, many made locally. Personal favorite is Scottish Ale. Pizza is usually really good - wood fired oven. Mussel plate is surprisingly good.

Beer was great but the food was lack luster. Their imperial stout was delicious with a very had a strong whiskey flavor. My husband had the grapefruit IPA and the crop duster...both of which he would like to have again. I wouldn't recommend their food though. The hula hula pizza was lacking pizzaz.

I thought that this place was decent - good food, good beer selection and didn't want to give people the impression that it is upscale at all. Good place for family, menu is a step up from bar food with pretty good calzones. They have home made pretzels - good but underbaked when we were there. I thought that the... More

I forget about this place and am gonna try not to! They have fabulous calzones and are the only place in Kearney that brews their own beer. My resolution is to eat here a couple times per month!
