Sadly, this is a restaurant in decline and the neighborhood needs a place it can rely on. The food is good, if sometimes inconsistent. The real problem is service. Even on slow days, the staff is slow to show up table side. Drinks don't get refilled. The check takes forever. For quick lunches, it is a serious problem.

I went with a friend this past weekend. It was a very busy time for them and the basic impression that I got from their service is that they're very busy and thus are all business when they're serving. My best advice is to be prepared to know what to order, talk clearly, and think twice before engaging the servers... More

Had a pork tender sandwich. It was very good. However, I was the only person in the place and the owner/waiter essentially forgot about me. Not good about coming around to refill drink. I could have probably walked out without paying...

I honestly chose this place based on its proximity to our location as we were heading back to Omaha. But I'm glad we did because it was clearly a neighborhood-type place where the servers are friendly and the food is great. There was an elderly customer who clearly wanted to talk a lot and her much younger server (a different... More

This is a great lunch spot. The service is friendly and quick, so you can get on to your meeting or back to work. However, I also noticed many tables were the patrons lingered over lunch, a piece of pie, and a good conversation. This has a nice, neighborhood feel, with very good, homemade food.

The au jus for the french dip is horrible. It has at least 1/2 inch of oil on the top and the only thing you could taste was oil. No seasoing, nothing. I have tried many french dip sandwiches over the years and this is the worst. I couldn't even finish it.

We really enjoyed our food and experience at this quaint, neighborhood cafe. Ordered the club sandwich with onion rings. Very tasty and generous portions. I enjoy supporting small business versus the big chains and feel this place is worthy of me and my family and friends business. Won't you join us!?

This is a great neighborhood spot in University Place near Nebraska Wesleyan University where you can meet friends or take family for lunch or a quick dinner. Good soups and sandwiches. Homey atmosphere with pleasant surroundings. Reminds me of a small town restaurant with the wooden floors, large windows and booths. Friendly servers who will offer you a piece of... More

This is a great café in my neighborhood. Good home cooking, friendly staff with a smile on their face. The last time I was there the proprietor even sat for a bit with a couple in a neighboring booth to talk with them.
