Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Booked here for 9 adults and 3 children. We arrived an hour early and the landlady was very nice and told us to take a seat by the fire while they were getting our table ready. We all sat down and ordered the Sunday lunch....The food was very nice and the place was lovely and homely. Perfect for a winters day. The only let down was a young male waiter / bartender. He was very rude. Two of the children were walking about after food looking at the decor around the place. The bartender very rudely said “keep your kids under control” we told the children to sit back down and they did. Just before leaving one of the children and his father went to the toilet. The bartender shouted “where is he going” we told him they were going to the toilet, then he carried on serving someone. We all found this very embarrassing and made us feel uncomfortable. So we paid the bill and left. We found him very rude and unwelcoming to the children. It’s such a shame as the place and the food was lovely. Unfortunately that member of staff has put us as a family off going back there again.More

This was the second time we have stayed with the Rees Family and couldn’t have been more welcomed back. The food, drinks and very friendly staff together with the warm welcome from the locals made for a brilliant weekend. Our ride out to the coast...on Sunday taking in Saundersfoot and others was breath taking. Once again Steve (motorbike mechanic extraordinaire)had to assist me with my slipping clutch whilst Stefan brought us cups of tea and coffee. Altogether a wonderful weekend and can’t wait until the next time. Many thanks, The Boys from Manchester.More

Firstly this pub is beautiful set in a really nice location and inside is the right mix of traditional with a modern twist. The staff are superb and service is all round very good. However I must say the food is average, not sure how...it gets such high ratings. We ordered 5 meals, the only standout meal was the chill con carne, spaghetti Bolognese and lasagna weren't particularly good and the kids chicken bite meal was your usual frozen chicken nuggets, actually thought they may of been homemade, as the chips too we thought surely they'll be homemade but definitely frozen bought chips when we visited. Overall not a terrible place to eat, like I say pubs lovely and very welcoming but food isn't anything special.More

What fabulous evening we had! Took family from Australia who were visiting alone with my husband and daughter. The food was just fabulous especially the homemade pie which both the men had. Neither could believe they had a whole gravy boat of wonderful homemade gravy...to themselves. The pie itself was deep and made with shortcrust pastry - a lovely change from puff. The fish and chips, chilli and pulled pork burger were good but the pie was the star of the show! We were very well looked after at all times without feeling we were being pestered and being checked on that everything was ok as often is the case. In fact so good we’ve already rebooked for when we have our next lot of visitors. Such a lovely welcoming landlady how could we not? Already looking forward to it. Thank youMore

My wife and I called today on the off chance there would be a spare table for Sunday Lunch as we were passing, we could see all Tables had reserved signs on them but asked just in case. The owner/landlady was brilliant, very accommodating and...really wanted to help us and found us a lovely cozy table by the fire. We had starters and the Sunday Lunch which was Amazing. We will definitely make the effort to come here again even though we live in Ammanford, so a little out of our way.More

Never write reviews… but feel I have to comment on lovely meal we had this evening… food was lovely … not spectacular but well cooked. Cost was fairly reasonable. Lovely atmosphere in pub. But I have to say the service we received was nothing short...of perfect! Didn’t wait for a thing and as always we had a lovely welcome. Well done to all involved … DiolchMore

Eight of us met up for a family reunion. Lovely meal, so much choice I settled for turkey dinner with all trimmings - delicious! Staff were so helpful and attentive (even provided a doggie (well fox) bag for one of us who couldn't manage whole...meal. We meet here about 4 times a year and will be back!More
