Midway from CA to Salt Lake City, we decided to spend the night in Winnemucca and try this restaurant for dinner. The Basque food was all delicious - well seasoned and plentiful. Started with the best minestrone soup and ended with entrees of pork chops and 1/2 rack of ribs... both served with perfect french fries. In between there was... More

I used to go to The Martin Hotel when traveling from California to Pullman Wa as a child on the way to visit my aunt. The place looks and feels exactly as I remembered it... still serves Basque food family style. the lamb shanks were melt in your mouth tender in an amazing sauce, everything we ate was delicious... the... Had originally planned to eat at the other Basque Restaurant in town (Ormacheas) because we had eaten there for many, many years when traveling across Nevada back to California. In fact, hub's family is originally from Winnemucca, so he had eaten at Ormacheas as a child decades ago. However, recent reviews here on Trip Advisor indicated that the restaurant had... More

We ate here due to the raving refiews on Trip Advisor. We went in pretty early for dinner and were the only people in the dining room the entire time we were there, about an hour. Service was spot on, server not hovering but was very prompt with serving courses. The setup is communal tables (though we were oh so... More

One of the better Basque restaurants in Northern Nevada (and the best in town since the Winnemucca Hotel burnt down). Plan on eating a lot (and paying quite a bit too - but the food is worth it). Served family style in the great and homey dining room.

This was a wonderful surprise. The Basque cuisine is absolutely outstanding, and the community feeling is a rare American experience. The people with whom we shared a table were entertaining and interesting and dressed for work or their hunting expeditions the next day.

Although not much seemed like Basque food, it was delicious and a great experience. Each meal is fixed price and includes soup, salad, bread, 3 sides plus French fries, a main course, dessert and a carafe of wine (which was excellent). Everything including seating is family style. Would, definitely return.

Ate dinner at the Martin Hotel while on a business trip to Winnemucca. I used to live in Nevada and now travel there at least once a year. I always look forward to one meal of Basque food on every trip to Elko or Winnemucca. I have to say that the meal we had last week is the best Basque... More

Well they served family style, which is Basque tradition. My husband says it was the only thing that was Basque. The chicken noodle soup was very good the homemade bread very nice the mashed potatoes were the only thing that I would consider to be for star. They use way too much garlic like three heads on each dish. The... More

We had been looking for a Basque experience on our drive through Nevada, and just happened on this historic hotel in the tiny town of Winnemucca. We had the sampler plates to try a bit of everything. Plenty of food, interesting twist on our usual fare. Ask about spicyness if that is a factor for you and be prepared that... More
