Be careful not to miss this lovely restaurant situated in the tiny village of Upper Stowe, with easy access off the A5. Serving a wide range of beautifully cooked food, plus tea and cakes if just dropping in after a visit to the adjacent craft centre. Friendly and welcoming staff. Lots of outside seating too for the better weather days. Highly recommended.

I don't always leave reviews but have now twice been moved to review the takeaway afternoon tea from The Barn. The food was delivered in a timely efficient manner (again) and was beautifully presented on a 3 tier stand. The order, though complicated with two households and child portions was dealt with precisely over the phone and without error. The food was just deliciously quaint, full of flavour and plenty of it. I highly recommend using this establishment if you are planning an afternoong tea that is over and beyond the normal expectancy.

Having seen good reviews for Mothers Day Afternoon Tea deliveries I decided to order one for my Birthday. It was freshly prepared and well presented, the pastries were melt in the mouth and cakes delicious! Delivery was prompt and efficient, following a friendly ordering process. Will definitely go for an' in situ' experience when open again.

We had booked a table for 11am but arrived a little early. We were offered the choice of eating inside or outside. We chose to eat inside. We ordered 3 large breakfasts, pancakes with fruit and a pot of tea for four. The tea arrived and then nothing happened for about half an hour. We asked where our breakfasts were and were told there is only one person in the kitchen and he is dealing with a backlog of orders, it didn't seem particularly busy to us. Why didn't someone come and explain this to us instead of us having to ask? When the food arrived it was very good however I asked for my eggs to be fried until the yolk was well and truly set they didn't manage this.

Well worth passing the usual venues on the A5 if you are in the area for some quality food at reasonable prices, excellent service and clearly by the number of tables occupied a popular choice .. we were directed upstairs as the ground floor was full! Although the wood burner was in operation downstairs the upstairs was not cold. What a change to have some tasty coffee and we both enjoyed our Paninis, in our case Fish Finger & Tartare Sauce and Tuna with Cheese, sharing a portion of chips. Salad accompaniment could not be faulted, hot chips and we took away a portion of the Blueberry Cake - most enjoyable!

The service was excellent lovely young waitress who constantly asked customers if they had everything they needed. I had the quiche with salad ! The salad was some lettuce leaves and a teaspoon of coleslaw and less than a quarter a tomato. The tart was lacking in cheese and overpowered with the caramelised onion. Way way overpriced for the quality

This was my first visit whilst on a cycle ride with a buddy. It is a regular stop for many cycling group rides so I was keen to see it for myself on a cold foggy day in November. It has a nice atmosphere and can be very busy so beware it is not always easy getting a table and the service suffers as a result. I enjoyed a large pot of tea and a cake (plenty of choice) whilst my friend had a coffee and bacon and egg roll. The prices seem reasonable considering everywhere seems to be raising prices regularly to keep up with inflation and heating costs. I will certainly return with my wife to try a different choice of food.

With the closure of Jack's Hill Café, Towcester, we took it upon ourselves to ride our two Velocettes and one BSA to Upper Stowe, near Weedon. What a delight. In marked contrast to the archetypical 1950s transport café, this was a high quality breakfast with lovely coffees and hot chocolate. It may have been cold and very damp as we rode back to Towcester, Pury End and Whittlebury, but we all felt is was a worthwhile visit.

Covid-19 didn't stop my enjoyment of a fabulous afternoon tea. I received a home delivered afternoon tea as a gift! What a wonderful gift and what a treat! Big Thank You to my gift giver and The Barn. Appetizing sandwiches packed with delicious fillings, freshly baked scones with clotted cream and jam, plus a selection of the most mouth watering and beautiful cakes. My taste buds are running wild again just reminiscing over it all! Thoroughly recommend you treat yourself or delight someone with a fabulous gift.

This place is amazing, I’m so glad it’s local to me! The staff are so lovely, even when they are understaffed, your are still served with a smile and they regularly check if everything is ok. Nothing is a problem here, they cater for allergies and intolerances with ease and reassurance. The afternoon tea is INCREDIBLE 🤤, it’s really good value, presented beautifully and of course…delicious. It’s that good I’ve had 3 afternoon teas here this year 🤭🐷. I have a gluten allergy and they cater for this with ease, I have pretty much exactly what the “normal” afternoon tea is and never feel left out. It’s always so fresh, and the scones …served warm, and irresistible. We’ve had take out from here too and spoilt the mums to afternoon tea. Cosy relaxed atmosphere, they are always busy so it’s a nice chatty casual environment. Thank you for all your hard work, it’s a real gem x

I ordered tea and chocolate cake this afternoon. It was a whole cake and had not yet been cut into. It looked very tasty. When it arrived on the plate I was surprised how greasy it looked. I couldn't carry on eating it. It was like a sponge cake soaked in oil. I went indoors and asked the waitress if it has been cooked using oil? She replied that it had. It was in the recipe. On further enquiry I discovered that the other cakes had been baked using butter. The waitress wasn't at all bothered when I said I didn't like the cake. Won't be returning!

I can’t quite believe how lovely this cafe is, if i’m honest I didn’t have high expectations and just thought the food would be average but I couldn’t be more more wrong. The ham, egg and chips was cooked to perfection (such good quality) and the jacket potatoes were so yummy. Really good portions, really good value and service was great. I will be back.

For my sister’s 60th birthday I ordered an afternoon tea for 6 people to takeaway and enjoy in the garden with some family. Rachel was so helpful and accommodating and every bit of the food was exquisite. This is the third or fourth time we have used this service and it has always been 100% reliable and quality. Thank you.

Myself and 11 colleagues visited The Barn yesterday and enjoyed a wonderful afternoon tea. Despite being a large group, Rachael and her team looked after us wonderfully! We were offered hot drinks and tea on arrival and these were regularly replenished for us! The food was served promptly and Rachael took time to tell us personally what everything was. Great variety of sandwiches and pastries to suit all. Cakes were absolutely delicious. Everything served on the cutest tableware - we particularly loved the elephant tea pot! Cannot fault anything and would recommend to all! The price is a complete bargain for this tasty treat!

I have become a regular visitor to this restaurant. It is charming but a little chilly in the depths of winter. Don't let that put you off, they have a wood-burning stove and heaters plus blankets available if needed. The food is excellent and so is the service.
