Simply authentic experience! The atmosphere is enticing, and the food prep obviously the " real thing"!

Loved the vegetable samosas. And the sweet lassi. Our meal was tasty. Service was fine, could have been better, but adequate. And the main dishes were yummy. Loved the way the restaurant smelled. We would definitely go back.

While staying with friend who new our love of Indian food we all headed here. As soon as you walk in the smell hits you :) We knew the food would be good! The tables have pappads/pompadoms already on the table for you to share The sauces were fantastic The surroundings are more subtle than some ~ which is a... More

We've been eating here for years - so much so that my kids (not of Indian descent) think of it as "comfort food". It has been run by a family for years and very pleasant. Food is great. Certainly not the kind of fare you'd find in a top-end restaurant in a major city, but nonetheless quality, tasty Indian food.

We've come back here several times. The food is delicious and good value. Service is a bit slow but cordial. One of the Indian meals I enjoyed the most!

I first went there in August 2015 and since then its like almost every month we go there when we feel like treating our tastebuds with mouth-watering Indian food. However, I have a small complaint with these people, they give discount to Dartmouth students but expect and ask(if not given) for tip which I think is double-faced.

Jewel of India is the only sit-down restaurant in the Upper Valley (Hanover, Lebanon and surrounding towns). The rap on JOI has been good food, but horrible service. I just visited there last night (April 2016) and the service has finally caught up to the food. We got in and got our menus quickly, the appetizers came out promptly and... More

The Indian food here is actually quite good but order it spicier than you think - we ordered mild and there was no kick. The restaurant itself doesn't have the greatest atmosphere but it is okay. A great take out option for Dartmouth students who are too busy to go out to eat.

I have enjoyed going to this restaurant for years; ever since we moved to this area. I usually get one of three different lamb dishes (there are many more) and my girlfriend gets some kind of shrimp curry. The food is always prepared perfectly. One complaint, the space is very small and they should rid it of some tables to... More

Tasty, use real spices in the cooking. Can be very slow or very fast, and am not sure why. Can seem a bit disorganized. However, our family frequents anyway-- the taste is worth the wait.
