Call his was my first time eating from this establishment. I ordered a spicy sushi roll combo. The combo came with soup which was ok but not the best I have had. The sushi rolls were good, but again not the best which is why...I am rating this as average.More
This is there pupil platter for 2 14.99 or as they said the price came to Be 17.50 plus the food sucked no pork strips
We had not ever been to Thousand Crane, and we've done take out twice now in the past week! The steamed dumplings were great, hunan chicken, noodles.....it was super fresh and light - wasn't drowned in sauce! Imagine that! Price is good, and we're happy...to find this little gem!More
We have eaten here many times, and I do like the food here in general. Haven't been here for at least 4 yrs. The place is rather shabby, and not particularly clean! We ordered diced chicken and cashew nuts and beef with peapods and mushrooms,...both were excellent. Also ordered sesame shrimp, not great, rather soggy. I do like the food here, and we went for a meal pre concert. Wouldn't go for a night out where the restaurant is the main focus.More
I never review restaurants or anything for that matter I'm sorry but this place has the worst Chinese food I've ever had and I've had some bad Chinese food I'm wondering if their cook even knows how to cook Chinese. I ordered my food at...3:10 (I'm sure a slow time) never was delivered till 4:22 that's not right for a place that was 3 miles away delivery guy was ok anyways I guess if I had something good to say it's I should have known better when a Chinese restaurant calls there beef teriyaki beef sticksMore
relaxing environment for work meeting or with a group of friends. fast friendly service. Good amount of food for the price and exceptional mixed drinks
My date and I had planned Vietnamese but it wasn't opened. We stumbled upon Thousand Crane and we were pleasantly surprised. We had a wonderful vegetable lo mein and lemon chicken. The lemon chicken was wrapped in a phillo dough and had a lemony gravy....I invisioned something different but did like it. The price was good and the portions were enough. We had white rice and left over chicken. I would go back. The food was clearly authentic.More
My first time here on a Friday night. The four of us, two vegetarians, two carnivores, started with drinks and appetizers. The drinks were flavorful and not too strong. Don't worry about stumbling out of here. Crab rangoon were perfect, hot, crispy won tons with...flavorful creamy centers. The tempura shrimp were golden and light and miso soup tasty and hot. Vegetarian dumplings were enjoyed and passed around as was the veggie lo mein. Salmon fried rice was also reported as tasty. [I cannot say, didn't taste it] White rice is served with most entrees. Service was very efficient and quick.. As soo as plates are empty, they disappear. Prices are reasonable. I really liked the opportunity to select from Asian, Chinese, and Japanese renderings. We'll be back.More
The place was full tonight, which through the staff for a loop. However, they pulled through and took care of everyone. Food was hot, tasty, and served in a short time.
My friend and I ate here on a Friday night. We were the only customers at 8:30 pm. Not a lot of promise with an empty restaurant. We both ordered a mixed drink. I had a Mai Tai that tasted a little off. Maybe the...juice was old? My friend had a fog cutter and said she didn't taste any alcohol. She ordered a miso soup that was cold and only had half of it. We shared crab rangoon's that were ok at best. I had the shrimp tempura roll that was ok. My friend had spicy tuna and some other rolls. She ran out of ginger and our waiter was no where to be found. Don't think we would come back here based on the food or service. There are much better places in Manchester.More
Food was great, but had to wait for almost two hours to get it delivered. Person who answered the call sounded nowhere near being accommodating. My request for a receipt to be included in the delivery was not met.
Parking may be tight but this place is worth it. Clean and comfortable. The house noodles are my favorite. The lunch specials are the best deals.
I ate dinner there one evening recently. I used ot eat there after it first opened and it was a really good oriental restaurant. It went downhill and the last time I ate there I was really unhappy, but that was a while ago so...I gave it another chance. It was a little better than the last time but still below what it should be. The service was good, the food was 50/50. I had a combination dish of General Chow's Chicken and fried shrimp. The chicken was excellent, the shrimp was below mediocre. I guess I will now wait until somebody else tells me that they have really improved before I go back again.More
I tried Thousand Crane for a takeout lunch for 2. I was pleasantly surprised that they had a relatively easy to use online ordering system. Unfortunately, it is clear that they do not actually start to cook the food until you show up to pick...it up. Kind of defeats the purpose of ordering in advance, no? From order to pickup ready it took 25 minutes for 2 lunches to be prepared and that's with an almost empty dining room. The food was OK, though one of the dishes (chicken with string beans) was made with no chicken whatsoever. I called to let them know and while they said they were sorry it is just not worth going back for a replacement dish or money back. On the bright side the prices are very reasonable but the fact that I had to wait 10 minutes while the food was prepared (and done wrong) makes me want to not return. I'd have given the food 3 stars if they made it right. It was the definition of "average" Chinese food. Soup (one of which was only lukewarm while the other was piping hot) is served in a pint container but only half full. OK, it is a lunch size serving but the lukewarm hot and sour soup was almost all liquid and very little else. No meat and just a few shredded mushrooms/bamboo shoots. Nicely seasoned though. I was disappointed that no brown rice was offered as a choice. White or vegetable fried was what was offered - tried one of each they were OK. I am probably spoiled because we moved from Nashua and had a few excellent choices in Chinese there (Chen Yang Li and Lilac Blossom) but the Chinese in Manchester, so far, has been very disappointing. In closing I find it funny that while I was waiting for my order I could see all of their past "best Chinese restaurant" plaques on the wall but the most recent was awarded in 2007. I wish I could have traveled back in time 9 years to when this place was good.More
