We had an excellent seafood dinner, well prepared, and delivered from gracious servers. There were 2 large parties, but the noise level was still low enough for us to have a conversation.

Very pretty restaurant with great food and service. Perfect for a quiet dinner. Menu is extensive and French. The dining room has a feeling of eating outdoors with high ceiling and branches full of lights. Such a pleasant evening.

Small and quaint setting, nicely set up. Food was delicious and a nice diversion from usual seafood menus. Service was friendly, efficient and pleasant. Wine selection is good and prices are fair and reasonable. A very good experience and recommend highly.

Hadn't been in a year, but the food, service, and atmosphere reminded us why this is a "go to" for us when we visit the area The chef/owner continues to create tasty, eye- pleasing dishes like the salmon and scallops I ate last night. My husband's daily Provençal dish with chicken and shrimp was also delicious. Too full to finish... More

We had a wonderful family dinner here last Saturday. The dining room is comfortable and welcoming; the tables are not stacked on top of each other. Our server was delightful and seemed to truly care about making our dining experience memorable. Highlights of the evening were a marvelous Coquiile St. Jacques and a very tasty Filet Au Poivre. The wine... More

Chris and Stephan Mayeux have built a strong reputation among locals over many years, and with good reason. Just a few minutes walk from the city center you'll find a chef- and family-run restaurant with excellent French cuisine, a great atmosphere, and first-rate service. During a recent visit our party tried dishes that included the Daily Provençal, the Filet au... More

With the great reviews and from my own experience, I can't help but think that with superb food, nice ambiance and friendly people, this restaurant would be sold out out every night if it was a block north on the other side of Maplewood Ave. Having said that make sure you book early at the weekends. The one page menu... More

We were there on a Thursday, 2 couples, and were seated in the lower wine bar area. Though the table was a wee bit cramped, it was tucked into the corner with lots of Windows. Ordered duo of duck, perfectly cooked and presentation was excellent. Others had swordfish and shrimp Provençal which they rated as excellent in every way too.... More

My wife and I were just in Portsmouth for the weekend and decided to try Bridge Street Bistro based on TA reviews and a recommendation from a sales person I deal with who lives in Portsmouth. We were not disappointed! Everything from the drinks to the food to the service staff were excellent. And the prices were also very reasonable.... More

We have been here many times. The food and service are always great and you can depend on a great meal! Their menu is extensive but very reasonably priced. It is a great find and we will continue returning here often! The chef really knows French cooking and his wife runs the restaurant and is very knowledgeable about the menu... More
