Ive been to the Dolphine Striker before and wanted to see if any changes had been made. The Spring Hill tavern ( part of the DS ) was closed so we did the main dining room. The service from Tiffany was very good, attentive without being intrusive and the food was quite good. Lunch was a fish and chips plate... More

Looking for 'live' music and great company? This place was it ! Found this live band called The Groove Cats " Music With Style " and a swank bar with a well with fish in it built in the bar. The rustic building and locals make the experience a relaxing good time.Drinks were perfectly done, beer on tap as well.... More

So disappointed, small portions and cold food, Scallops were tiny and over cooked. Appetizer I had of filet and puff pastry was tasteless and very cold. My husband got 3 small steak tips and said they were tough.Party of 6, $29.99 each for restaurant week special. 5 cocktails brought the check total to $300 , then everyone went home and... More

Historic site overlooking the water. Fun to watch cargo ships and smaller sailing by. We ordered the lobster roll. Big chunks of cold lobster with tarragon mayo. Side of fries were very good. Only one other table of customers so service was good.

I had no idea it would be so difficult to park on a Saturday night in Portsmouth! We were able to get into the restaurant after trying a few with no availability. Turn of the century building with a small menu. Settled on a 1/2 lb burger and a mojito. Warm bread and oil on the table. not a great... More

Bottom line: sub-par service, bad seafood chowder. We waited 10 minutes for someone to greet us and there was only one other table. We ordered the seafood chowder. The cup size is a typical small cup, think broth that tastes like coconut! Yuck. This seafood chowder is mostly clams with some very small pieces of other unknown fish. We then... More

The food was not very good. Portions were very small for the price. The décor was very shabby and dirty. The waitress gave us a lecture on why the food tasted terrible...REALLY???????? Eat somewhere else.

A colleague of mine and I were in Portsmouth for business and thought we give the Dolphin Striker a try. It is located close to the Harbor and very rustic inside. The ceilings a very low, so it makes a very cosy atmosphere. As an appetizer we had a nice plate of Oysters and as a main meal we both... More

Where to begin------so much to say. it's quirky, for sure. VERY popular-40+ people turned up within an hour. But one poor soul waited over half an hour for man'n'cheese and a beer. But our food was OK---although the mussels in the Paella were cooked to a frazzle We got the wrong bottle of wine, but it was close I might... More

Back in the 70's, Portsmouth was a hard core, blue collar rough and tumble place. This restaurant started the whole cultural shift. You have to visit the Spring Hill Tavern in the basement and see the well in the Bar.
