The location is nice, the building is beautiful, the history is rich but the menu should also be a part of history. It's not bad, its just not good. The food takes fresh ingredients and does the most boring recipe with them. Blackened fish with pilaf seems like a throwback to 1990s chilis. Raw oysters are fresh but it comes... More

We dined at the Dolphine Striker a while ago and wanted to go back and see if it was still an enjoyable place. We remembered a place where the food was great and the service impeccable. maybe it was because it was lunch, but it seemed a bit just OK. It was not busy but there was only one person... More

I can't comment on the food as we only visited the Spring Hill bar downstairs, but the music experience alone deserves a top rating. The band Side Car was awesome. I understand they have live music just about every night of the week. Hats off to the management for supporting live music in this day of exorbitant music licensing fees... More

Some items were good and others not very good (Cuban dish). Good service. Can get meals or lighter fare

Ive been to the Dolphine Striker before and wanted to see if any changes had been made. The Spring Hill tavern ( part of the DS ) was closed so we did the main dining room. The service from Tiffany was very good, attentive without being intrusive and the food was quite good. Lunch was a fish and chips plate... More

Looking for 'live' music and great company? This place was it ! Found this live band called The Groove Cats " Music With Style " and a swank bar with a well with fish in it built in the bar. The rustic building and locals make the experience a relaxing good time.Drinks were perfectly done, beer on tap as well.... More

So disappointed, small portions and cold food, Scallops were tiny and over cooked. Appetizer I had of filet and puff pastry was tasteless and very cold. My husband got 3 small steak tips and said they were tough.Party of 6, $29.99 each for restaurant week special. 5 cocktails brought the check total to $300 , then everyone went home and... More

Historic site overlooking the water. Fun to watch cargo ships and smaller sailing by. We ordered the lobster roll. Big chunks of cold lobster with tarragon mayo. Side of fries were very good. Only one other table of customers so service was good.

I had no idea it would be so difficult to park on a Saturday night in Portsmouth! We were able to get into the restaurant after trying a few with no availability. Turn of the century building with a small menu. Settled on a 1/2 lb burger and a mojito. Warm bread and oil on the table. not a great... More

Bottom line: sub-par service, bad seafood chowder. We waited 10 minutes for someone to greet us and there was only one other table. We ordered the seafood chowder. The cup size is a typical small cup, think broth that tastes like coconut! Yuck. This seafood chowder is mostly clams with some very small pieces of other unknown fish. We then... More
