We had one day in Portsmouth and ate dinner here. It's a rustic pub-like atmosphere with some outdoor seating. We had baked loster and the flat bread pizza. Both very good. We sat at a table inside and had great service.

Stopped in for dinner on the outdoor deck on a recent summer Saturday evening. We were on the late side, so there was no wait and we were seated immediately. Pleasantly cool evening, mellow atmosphere and really good food, definitely better than our prior 2013...More

We sat on the deck for a perfect view of the Piscataqua River, Tugboats, Memorial Bridge and Kittery. Our meal was a sample of appetizers - muscles were delicious and the ribs were the best ever. Cold beer and good service from our bartender /...More

We found the Oar House based on good reviews. It's down a side street from the main "Bow Street line of restaurants". There's an inside part, but across the street is their waterfront deck - and as cozy and well-appointed as the inside was, the...More

It hurts to say this, because we’ve been dining on the Oar House Deck for 20 years, mostly for the view, and we have actually celebrated some significant family occasions there, but our last visit was a big disappointment to say the least. The Charcuterie...More

Dinner outside on the deck on a sunny summer evening is very nice. Food is good: salads with fresh grilled fish were tasty and the steak was delicious (but expensive at $40). Service is friendly and the drinks were good. And there are a few...More

Wanting a lobster dinner we decided to go to the Oar House. We were the only ones there. The escargot was delicious but we were disappointed in the lobster. It was tough and not that sweet and expensive at $40 for just the lobster. The...More
