We hadn't been here in about a year, and we were delighted to discover that the food is even better than we remember it. Guacamole is now made to order at your table; the mole sauce was rich and complex; the atmosphere of the restaurant is charming. Wonderful, friendly service.

Just love this place every time we go.... Portions are huge and delicious, and prices are reasonable. Decor throughout is lovely and amazing, too! Makes you really feel like you're in Mexico without having to worry about all the dangers a trip like that might entail! Tamales con Pollo (chicken) is my absolute favorite every time I go ($12.95). They... More

Looking for good Mexican in North New Jersey and Riviera Maya offers an okay experience. Food is okay, nothing spectacular, guacamole can be great, depending on your server. Service in general is good, but order exactly as it is on the menu or else suffer a charge for any and every substitution/extra (ex: extra rice, no beans instead of rice... More

I lived in California for 15 years and had a Mexican restaurant on every corner. Riviera Maya is as authentic as I have had in the northeast. Their housemade salsa is a little spicy but really good. Generous servings you won't leave hungry. The only thing that was different was there were peas and corn in the burrito supreme but,... More

My wife and I recently enjoyed on of the best Mexican meals we have ever had. This is truly authentic Mexican family style cuisine! I couldn't choose between the chile relleno or the barbecoa until the waiter offered to put the barbecoa in the relleno! Genius! This is a great example of the service we were given! From start to... When we arrived, we had to wait for awhile since they did not take reservations and we were a group of 8. Staff was very accommodating while we waited in the lobby area giving us chips to go along with our drinks. Once we were seated, the service was quite efficient. I think everyone enjoyed their meals but I must... More
