Every time we come to Cape May there has to be at least one trip to The Lobster House. This is a restaurant where if you leave hungry it's on you. Menu carries old-time favorites like Clams Casino, but also has more updated fare like the fresh fish cooked as you like (grilled, blackened, etc.) on a plank. This was... More

Everyone we spoke with before we went to Cape May told us that we had to go to The Lobster House. At first glance, I thought the prices were a little high but you get salad, potato & vegetable with your main course so it really wasn't. We arrived around 6:30pm on a Friday. We had a little bit of... More

I'm a chef and I hate overcooked seafood, This place, the seafood is tender and juicy, which explains the crowd even at the beginning of the season. 45 minute wait for a table for 2 in April, but worth every minute. Bar could be bigger with more staff, but the drinks were delicious, Chocolate martini perfection. Staff is very friendly... More

6 of us had a wonderful time. Food was very good and the place is huge! Had difficult decision narrowing meal to 1 choice. Want to go back to try different seafood dishes.

The wait can be long. Go late...particularly in season. Bring crayons for young ones. Have a beer and enjoy. Lobster boil is a good value. Inside eating is a nice dinner. Outside is really delightful. Outside is cleanup service/. Things are fairly streamline and you get the call if they do not let a non speaking person read out your... More

We have been to Cape May many times, but have never tried to the lobster house due to some bad reviews here on TA. but this weekend we decided to try it and I am glad we did! We got there around 6:30 and there was a 45 min wait, keep in mind this is the off season so I'd... More

Just moved to the area in mid February and wanted to start hitting restaurants around the area. Saw the big billboard just as I entered Cape May so the fiancé and I decided to go for dinner. Ascetics of location is very dated, musty, and dusty but I guess in a way it appeals to the tourist crowd. Server was... More

My wife and I went to The Lobster House for dinner. When first entering this restaurant, we were very excited. It sits right on the water next to many of the fishing boats and the decor inside looks very much like a normal seafood restaurant. The waitress was wonderful. She brought us a huge loaf of bread which was very... More

The Lobster House does not take reservations. Saturday was very busy and we had to wait almost an hour for our table. The building is in need of some updating. The oysters were delicious, my crab imperial was o.k. but nothing special, the salad was fair, limp lettuce, the vegetables were fair. There is a view from one side only... More

My husband & I stopped at The Lobster House for lunch on the way to the B & B we were staying at in Cape May, NJ. Our waitress, Iona, was very pleasant & the service excellent. My special requests were not a problem. We got there shortly after they opened & got a seat by the window. We enjoyed... More
