Decent food, but is cash only. Plenty of parking is deceiving - inside can be tight quarters if dining with a large party.

I have written about the Forked River Diner before and it has recently re-opened with full C19 precautions. I am writing because of an article in a local paper that head line said "Forked River diner defies order to close". People think it is this...diner but if you read the article it is the Lake View and they did stay open during the lock down in NJ. I just wanted to set the record straight because the Forked River Diner does not deserve the bad press it has received on social media. Read the article before you comment. I stopped for breakfast on my way to fishing just the other day and it was great to have them back. Breakfast is always good and so is lunch. They are careful and the staff wears masks. They sanitize between customers and the place has always been clean even though it is an old classic "silver" diner. Still a great place to eat.More
Stopped by yesterday and had a quick midday breakfast. My wife enjoyed an old fashion egg sandwich, that she loved and I enjoyed the blueberry pancakes. This is a Jersey classic style diner with outstanding service and low prices.Worth a visit.
I’ve been there a few times and the food is good as is the price. However the structure needs repair as it makes me feel like the food may be somewhat dirty, even though it’s not. A few new ceiling tiles to freshen it up...would go a long way.More
Great food lovely staff. There lunch specials are always a nice portion and good quality. Worth stopping in.
The eggs, toast, potatoes and sausage are pretty good here. However, I ordered waffles today and they were terrible. They just don't taste good. Also, the syrup that they use is low quality. By the way, when you pick up the fork, it weighs nothing....That's because all these diners purchase their cutlery from the same distributor and these are the cheapest forks on the planet. They actually hurt your hand! Service was a tad slow even though the place was empty. It took quite a while before I had my coffee refilled.More
Its our favorite breakfast place and I go there often for lunch... never a bad meal... awesome prices....
This is an old fashioned NJ Diner. Good food, warm and friendly staff. The servings are plentiful ! Just what we were looking for!
Forked River Diner 317 S. Main Street (US 9) Forked River NJ IF you are in this Forked River area, stop in and enjoy. Don't let the ole-time 'diner-image' fool you; though cozy inside, the breakfast we had was delightful. Decent menu selections at a...good price. The friendly & attentive table server was very considerate in helping us choose & tailor our selections. The only thing you need to be mindful about, is that you need to bring CA$H as this wonderful establishment does NOT take ANY Type of Credit Cards; NO CREDIT CARD$ accepted; so remember to bring CA$H! Your meal won't break the bank so it was worth it for us to bring the Green to enjoy the worth-while meal.More
Great breakfast spot if you can get there befoe the lines begin. Sunday after mass is NOT a good time to go. The food is very good and what you would expect from a diner. Service is quick & waitresses were friendly and knowledgeable.
What a great place to eat. The food is delicious, the prices are very good and the waitress was very attentive. They do not accept credit cards so bring your cash. There is an ATM on site. You can’t go wrong here.
When on the road in the morning I always stop her. Food is reasonable and they prepare it to my liking. They also have items on the menu you can't find in many other restaurants. I find the service to be friendly and fast. Never...had a meal that I wasn't satisfied with in this diner. It is a old world diner. Be it known I have only had breakfast here but it was always goodMore
Another great breakfast Double Pork Roll and Egg on roll WOW Outstanding!!🍳This diner is always on the top! A favorite even for my son when flys in from California 👍👍👍👍👍
Used to be a go to place for breakfast. Liked that they had grits and scrapple. It was a classic NJ diner. The last few times the breakfast was ice cold. Tried it one more time. Grits and eggs were inedible. Sent it back, grits...came back hot but eggs were still only lukewarm. They forgot to bring back my wife's bacon too. As much as it hurts me to say, place is off my list. Maybe their previous signage that was advertising "cook wanted" was an omen. They should keep looking. Had to ask for more coffee. BTW, they call me Diner Don for a reason!More
My daughter & her family wanted to go there because its looks appealed to her. My wife and I had eaten there before, so we knew that the food was good. Everyone Thoroughly enjoyed their meals. The food exceeded our expectations.
