My wife and I decided to have our anniversary dinner out at the Frenchtown Inn. I had never been there but had heard good things about it. I'm so glad we went. The atmosphere is beautiful...old colonial inn style and very romantic. The service was great (thank you Barbara). My wife started with the lobster bisque which she loved. I... More

We have been to the Frenchtown Inn many times. Usually we give it 4 stars. This time I ordered the charcuterie and got the pate by mistake. I like pate but i iddn't order it . This should not happen at a 4 star restaurant. I didn't complain because asIsaid I like pate. The big disappointment was the rack of... More

Enjoyed the mains we ordered- The ambience was old simple elegance, yet comfortable enough for us and friends to be talking and laughing freely without imposing on other diners . The service was friendly and relaxed

Being a party of 10, it seems all regular rules of dining were off. We were having a birthday party for a 90 year old person. After making the reservation 2 months in advance, we were told 2 days before that we would have a limited menu. The restaurant was not crowded when we arrived for a 6:00 reservation, and... More

Nice little stop. Excellent renovation to original character. Would recommend the crab cakes or salads.

It's supposed to be one of the upscale East Coast Inns that serve either creatively designed or well executed classics or both. Unfortunately, the goal was not achieved. It pales in comparison with the Pluckemin Inn, for example. My Aussie lamb was ok (no real complaints, but not memorable, either). However, the goat cheese salad was close to a disaster... More

Highly recommend this Inn. I think it's the ONE OF THE BEST restaurants in New Jersey. Food is incredible, staff always accommodating, friendly and atmosphere is just charming. Have eaten here several times and have NEVER been disappointed.

Pretentious but pleasant. Out door seating is nice on a warm evening. food is ok but nothing special. Had batter fried soft shell crab (one) and two batter fried shrimp for $27. Batter overwhelmed both and was especially sad on the soft shell. Made a decent Vesper.
