Monticello at Red Bank Nice little restaurant on Broad Stree. Very good location with parking in the rear and only a 3 block walk to the Count Basie Theater. It was quiet at 6 PM on Saturday night when we arrived, with a reservation. But it did get noisy as people came in and the noise level rose considerably after... More

From the moment the warm crusty bread arrived until the last sip of my BYOB black Sambucca--the food and service were outstanding. Appetizers and salads were "dinner size" with tender calamari lightly breaded and fried. Should have asked for a bit more pomodoro sauce just to dip my bread crust. Table meals included veal parm, seafood arrabiata, chicken and spinach... More

We visited Monticello on New Years Eve. They were crushed. Nevertheless, we had a lovely meal, with service only slightly affected by the rush., really good soups and salads plus lovely entrees. Who could ask for anything more. And BYOY to boot

We enjoyed dinner here tonight and were wowed by the carefully prepared, delicious food! The place was busy but our server, Pete, was attentive and helpful. He made several recommendations and we were not disappointed when we tasted the food. We will definitely be back!

Have never been before. Was looking for a place walkable to Count Basie (this is about 3 blocks away). Such a great choice. The food was so good. I had the pork shank Ossobuca and it was the BEST I've ever had! Had the homemade gelato for dessert (biscotti flavored!) and it was amazing! an't say enough about it. Take... More

Went here for dinner before going to th Count Basie Theater. From the street the restaurant looks very small. Inside it is long and narrow. It is nicely decorated and the tables are somewhat close together. We got there early so it was not crowded but was full by the time we left. Our server was friendly and attentive but... More

We just had a wonderful experience last weekend. We had delayed our reservations by 30 minutes because we were full from lunch and just intended to order appetizers before an 8 pm theater seating. When we looked at the menu we couldn't help but order appetizers and entrees !!! We had the mussels (amazing broth to dip the bread in)... More

My husband and I went to Monticello for the first time for our anniversary. Having been told by friends that they often sit couples by the kitchen we requested a larger table and were pleasantly surprised when they sat us in the table by the window. We ordered a burrata appetizer, this only came with a small piece of burrata... More

The restaurant is rather small, narrow but cozy in feel. We were there on a Sunday and it was not crowded at all. Other reviews complained of the noise level but it wasn't bad when we were there (but it was not crowded) we had reservations and we're seated immediately. The server came over immediately and opened/poured our wine. The... More

We recently had dinner at Monticello and it was a mixed bag. Three of us had the "Salmon and Shrimp". Why it was so named escapes me for the one shriveled shrimp they gave us might be better termed a garnish, certainly not a co-entree. I'll grant that this small bite sized shrimp was tasty as was the salmon though... More
