We visit Docs once a week. The food and service is top notch. We normally eat at the bar and the bartenders are wonderful, especially Dave! He makes the best old fashions ever!!

Doc's is a family run bar and restaurant that we have frequented for over 30 years. This is a clean, well run and intimate place with excellent food, inside and outside dining, a cozy bar and personable owners who are usually there to greet and interact with you. Set directly on the edge of an excellently maintained high end Marina... More

My wife and I are visiting Somers Point this week and we ate at "The Doc's Place" twice. We had Lunch for $8.50 that included the best Clam Chowder I ever tasted and 1/2 Reuben sandwich that was just great. On Thursday we ate dinner on their Early Bird Special which has a menu of about 20 items available from... More

Loud atmosphere even though every single patron besides us was 70+ which could explain the lack of flavor in the food. His: "Corona in a bottle?" Only Corona Light. Heineken it was. Hers: Found a floater in the glass of water... appeared like dried parsley but with her luck was probably mold from ice machine. Restaurant does not offer bottled... More

We've been going to Doc's for several years now, and I would call us regulars at this point, usually going once a week for lunch during the warmer months when we can sit outside on the porch overlooking the marina. There are a couple of waiters/owners who typically serve us, and they deliver our drink order before we barely sit... More

Haven't been here in several years and were pleasantly surprised to see that it was still very good. Entrees were the stuffed flounder, crab cakes and penne with kobe beef Bolognese sauce. All were delicious and cooked perfectly. Martinis were full size and chilled appropriately. One dessert the lemon meringue pie which was more like a tart was very good.... More

I have eaten at Doc's Place three times this summer and enjoyed each occasion. That said, my enjoyment had more to do with my dining companions and ambience on the dock than it had to do with the meal. Most of the food is okay but nothing special. They do, however, make a nice dirty martini which you can sip... More

Nice atmosphere, typical lunch menu, great service, nice wine list. We ate inside bc it was a very humid day but there is a nice outdoor deck area with view of marina and bay. I gave it average only because of the food......pretty standard fare nothing exceptional but low priced lunch combos Would like to try for dinner out on... More

I feel obligated to write this review due to the horrible inconsistency exhibited by this restaurant. The location on the water with a marina view is great. The service tonight was on-point; we had a very attentive server. The menu made us feel excited for dinner, the creativeness of the platings was appreciated, but the food itself was dismal at... Description
Owned and operated by the Hieb family since 1987, The Doc’s Place offers inside and, seasonally permitted, alfresco dining in a luxury yacht basin - Harbour Cove Marina. We are open 11 months of the year (closed in January) and serve a traditional breakfast on Sundays and lunch and dinner daily (see www.thedocsplace.com for seasonal hours). Luncheons include jumbo lump crab meat Caesar salad – delicious; cheese steaks and Kobi burgers – the best around. Dinners embrace fresh fish; steaks and chops (our beef is competitive with any ‘steak’ house), shell fish - shrimp, clams and mussels; and accompaniments such as pomme de terre frits, cooked-to-order pasta and seasonal vegetables from New Jersey & the world! Our bar introduced this area to 7½ ounce martinis and Manhattans, poured to a meniscus! Our wine list is an oenophile’s delight. Our limited seating Thanksgiving Day dinner is legendary. Our private parties are spectacular. Try us, again!
