We are locals to Hay and eat here whenever we have time, sadly not often enough but then it keeps it special and a treat to look forward to! So it was Auntie Lizs' birthday and her choice was thankfully The Bridge, we were all ravenous and the menu satisfied everyone, even the fussiest of easters, everything we ordered was... More

Glyn (owner) was a top host for a group of 18 friends I brought to Michaelchurch. We had a delicious buffet lunch that was extremely simple to organize with Glyn. The Scotch eggs need to be sampled if you go to the pub, even if you are passing through for a drink. The beer garden is beautiful and the service... More

We stayed very local to The Bridge Inn so it was the only pub in the area which we visited. The pub has 3 rooms - 2 mainly seated rooms, and 1 bar area with the usual rustic seating and standing areas. Our first visit was for lunch - sat in the bar area on a busy Sat lunchtime. Service... More

We parked our motor home here for two nights in an absolute jem of a place! A quiet, sleepy little hamlet close to the Welsh border and the breacons! Electric hook up and a clean warm shower room/ toilet. We stayed here just after Christmas and it was a real find. The food in the pub was not cheap but... More

Stayed at the Landlord's farmhouse nearby. The pub is charming and so are the staff. One barman said he was a regular at the pub but liked it so much he now works there. The food is simple, honest fare and good value and the wine list is good. I imagine it is delightful next to the river in summer.

Visited the bridge following numerous recommendations by family and friends for Sunday lunch. Arrived as per booking time however, we were presented with a menu which most definitely wasn't Sunday lunch. They had clearly run out of Sunday lunch but neglected to inform us of this and offered us beef. The beef turned out to be steak with a selection... More

So runs the old song. You won't find this one without a satnav. Go through Longtown on the road beyond Clodock at seemingly endless farm-mudded narrow road until a tiny junction - 4-way with B&B farmhouse on the left and imposing old church ahead of you. Slip unseen to the right past the old Church House and over a tiny... More

Stayed a few weeks ago. Amazing location, gorgeous building, great food and generous portions. I asked for a ginger, lemon and honey as I wasn't feeling great - not a problem. We stayed in one of their rooms which was wonderful - maybe need some insulation under the floorboards (although this may be hard to do as it's an ancient... More

During a walking holiday in the area, 9 of us lads descended upon the Inn, needing a table and plenty of food and drink. The staff happily obliged, and turned a blind eye to our raucous, loud and occasionally sweary behaviour... They then found a nice nook to feed us in, slightly away from most of the guests in the...
