Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This was once one our favourite pubs to eat, sadly no longer. The staff were very friendly but not really on the ball. We had Sunday lunch which was nothing like it use to be. We waited to be shown the dessert menu which did...not materialise. We decided to just have coffee, but after no one came to take an order my husband went to the bar. He was eventually asked if he was waiting to order so he answered yes, could we have coffee. The chap then simply walked away. My husband called out after a minute or two and managed to place the order, then we waited. And waited. Giving up, we went to the bar to pay and queried the lack of coffee, and were told that the coffee machine was broken. Wish someone had thought to mention it earlier. Won't be in a hurry to return.More

Over- microwaved food with soggy chips and veg in a chilly space, and no beer on tap to ease the pain. It’s a shame, as remote pubs need support from the local community, but local people earn their money with hard work and should expect...better than this.More

Such a shame. My son booked to take his grandmother & I out for Mothers Day. We’ve been going to The Bridge for years & it’s always been fabulous. Not so now. Lunch was plated up (like school dinners), we had to ask for meat...appropriate condiments (there was no apple sauce for the pork) we sat for ages after our plates were cleared but as we weren’t offered dessert, we paid & left. It was cold in the dining room, the bar fire wasn’t lit & there was a massive & very ugly speaker in the corner. Hardly the welcoming Bridge we all knew & loved! The pub was half empty and bearing in mind it was Mother’s Day, this spoke volumes. Very, very sadly, we won’t be returning.More

A hidden gem Lovely friendly pub Totally welcoming reception from the moment we stepped through the door We were offered the very quaint snug area for our lunch for 2 which was very thoughtful as the main area had a larger cover Louise was exceptionally...friendly and was lovely to meet and chat to her Food was presented really well with locally sourced ingredients… our steaks were cooked well and full of flavour Around 15 miles from the centre of Hereford the pub has 2 Yurts which Louise very kindly gave us a guided tour Will definitely be returningMore

Not the gastro pub it used to be. Very disappointed! No fires lit at 12.45 on New Year’s Eve so extremely cold in the pub (5 degrees outside!) Food - just ok! not the exciting menu of previous owners. If you want wine well you...have one or two to choose from but not much choice at all. We have been to the pub a few times over the years and it’s always been fantastic. It’s a shame but it’s not what it used to be.More

Very disappointing, used to be a great pub with great food but sadly no longer. Very below average food, unkempt and dirty surroundings (especially the outside patio area). The bar unfortunately now has large ugly speakers with what looks like a karaoke function and plays...inappropriate pop music.More

We went for lunch on Sunday. There was no menu so had no choice. The food wasn't great, i would describe it as a poor school dinner. We were greeted with loud music and a over friendly landlady . We have been to this pub...many years ago and had a pleasant experience but obviously lchanged hands now. Won't be going back there again. Shame really as this is a very nice pub in a wonderful area.More

Found this place on pitchup, and to fe honest, the photos didn’t do it any justice, arrived early Friday, and pleasantly greeted by H, the owner, what a helpful pleasant guy, also met Lou his partner, very pleasant, the pub itself is beautiful, lovely old...traditional country pub, came camping for the weekend, shower and toilets very clean and well presented, lovely atmosphere, would recommend, come and see yourself. Thanks H and Lou.More

Noted the Inn when I booked a holiday in Longtown and pleased we got to go. Booked relatively late in the day but they were able to oblige. Had a very good meal, Crab Linguine, Beef Burger and rump steak and salad with lovely chips....Very good desert of white peach and raspberry cheesecake too.More

Hit and Miss. Shame, the pub and place is magical, but ownership and staff are clearly changing. One day, the best steak & truffle chips with attentive enthusiastic pleasant staff. One of the best restaurant experiences i've had. Next day, "sorry we're not serving food,...because our fryer isn't working". The odd thing was that they were continuing to serve food, puddings and allsorts to customers. Weirdest restaruant experience I've ever had.More

We have camped here several times as well as using the yurt. We have lovely memories of food and service so decided to call in after a visit to Hay to show my daughter. The blond female bartender was so rude, abrupt and unwelcoming that...I didn’t buy a drink. We all observed her abruptness and decided not to stay for food.More

I have been eaten Sunday roast in many great pubs , this was probable in a par with bad school food in fact worse . The roast potatoes where I am sure from the freezer and undercooked not at all crispy . What a shame...as cooking a good roast isn't rocket sicence and when this area can produce such amazing local produce. A definite NO from me , a waste of money very disappointed. Wish id of cooked at home and not been charged for this terrible meal.More
