We took friends to this lovely place for breakfast, and from being greeted at the gate by the lovely gatekeeper, and driving up the beautiful driveway, then being able to park under the trees, the entire morning was a delight. The staff were really helpful and fun, and the food was very good, everyone enjoyed what they had, and my... More

Popped in for breakfast - the Eggs Benedict Royale and the Courgette Fritters was what we had. The chefs certainly know how to put flavours together. Added to the fact that all their breads and pastries are home made (sorry for the carb feee people) and home made hams and preserves (pawpaw chutney!) just adds to the experience. Great coffee... Great lunch - friendly staff. Not sure why the canopy is so sensative- nice breeze but that caused the canopy to move back inwards then the manager had to come had press a button to sen the canopy back out to shade us from the heat! Surely its got an over ride button on!

The setting was peaceful and picture prefect. The menu was clear and convincing. The service was focused on satisfying us the customer. The dishes served were visually enticing and a perfect balance for our palettes. The house wines were of a quality comparable to more noble vintages. In short, a worthy stop to be repeated again and again!

We ate lunch here twice during our recent holiday. The first time was absolutely fab (we were part of a cycling group) and we returned as a couple. We both ordered the same starter on both occasions but on the second time the avocado salad lacked any avocado! When we pointed this out after the meal the chef came to... More

Always a mystery why new buyers pay top dollar for a successful place, change the staff and menu and expect instant success. Even the cock has gone.... Not working yet, but hopefully will get back on course. The location remains one of the best in the valley.

Dear Sean We actually paid in South African Rands more than 12 years ago. It was not a going concern at the time, except for the fruit farming. Staff do change over the years, some move on, some pass away, some decide to retire. As for poor Hendrik the rooster, he was getting on in life and passed away, sadly.... More

I booked lunch several weeks ago to make sure that we could have lunch here. We love it. We love the position, the scenery, the trees, the relaxed feel of the whole place and the food on previous occasions. We arrived on our road bikes in Lycra and the welcome was very friendly. The wine list gives a good cross... More

The 4 of us were traveling from Swellendam to Stellenbosch and popped in at Cafe BonBon at La Petite Dauphine Guest Farm for lunch at about 11:10am and were pleased with the beautiful setting, the style and comfort of the lunch / picnic area. The food was amazing: we ordered a platter of meat and another of cheese, for sharing... More
