My husband chose the 5 course meal with wine pairing and me the 3 course meal, also because for vegetarians there were a limited number of dishes to choose from. What was presented, though, was excellent, as was the service and the ambience. I have eaten here before and will definitely be back.

Music in the backround, where it belongs... Tranquil garden surrounding with water feature to add to the atmosphere. Well presented food, with taste to compliment. Wines well paired with food. Great choice for a Sunday lunch.

On invitation of my dear friend, ms. Okalanda Herbert, I had the priviledge of lunch on Saturday 11 February 2017 at this lovely restaurant. We chose to sit outside. It was a very hot day. The outside dining area was cooled off by a spraying device. We were served throughout by ms. Dianne Geduld who gave us excellent service. A... More

Beautiful setting, attentive staff. The food was lovely, small portions of fabulous food. A real treat. They allow you to bring wine for a small fee, which is a bonus since most restaurants in the winelands are rip off artists. Highly recommended.

From the location and setting to the waiter and the service we received and, of course, the food was excellent. The water feature created a relaxing and tranquil setting within the beautiful gardens of this country house hotel. It couldn’t have been better. We had the crab cakes with a delicious mango based sauce; biltong spiced lamb cutlets with spiced... More

To start the service was excellent, the waiter was so friendly, the food was 5 star! I went for the tapas menu 4 portions were enough. Chicken pie was a he best I have ever tasted. My wife had a set menu including a different wine with each course. In all the cost was 1200 Rand (70 pound)

We stayed at the Country House and Villas last September and ate at Monneaux on both nights of our stay. The food was amazing - my first taste of springbok - the wine list exemplary and the service was faultless. If you are in Franschhoek, then this is the place to eat. You will not be disappointed!

On our first night staying at the Franschhoek Country Hotel & Villas, we booked a table for 19:30 [the earliest possible booking]. Monneaux proved to be a slightly odd experience, as we found the tasting plates concept rather complicated [and with no indication of how small or otherwise the dishes would be]. We settled for the 3-course Chef’s menu instead... More

The only thing better than our outstanding meal was our waiter Merven (Murph). He explained how the menus worked, served us with a smile made and made the whole night a truly enjoyable one. As for the food - the highest accolade I can give the Chef is that each dish we had was better than the last? And considering... More

Description
Monneaux Restaurant ranks among South Africa's top restaurants, and serves an inspired contemporary take on the classics. Lunch is enjoyed on the fountain terrace under a spreading pepper tree while dinner is enjoyed in the elegant but relaxed dining room in the original manor house. Set on the original site of Franschhoek's first parfumerie, today its the heavenly scent of chef Adrian Buchanans cooking that inspires at the Monneaux Restaurant, a Cape culinary classic. Even by the food & wine capital of the country's high standards, Monneaux is an extra-ordinary success, having been in the country's Top 100 list for six years consecutively, on the Top 10 list for two years and winning the American Express Platinum Award for fine dining. The underground cellar is available for private functions where dinner can be enjoyed by an impressive selection of local and foreign wines. The restaurant's bar lounge provide a comfortable environment to relax and enjoy the company you're with. The wine list emphasizes the boutique wines of the Franschhoek Valley as well as an impressive selection of other award winning wines of South Africa
