A beautiful day, sitting outside could not have been better. There were five of us, we all had the Prawn and Calamari Combo and salad. The calamari was excellent, we felt the prawns were spoilt by being dressed with a spicy flavoring, lots of it...More

From the moment that we arrived the whole evening was just perfect. We were a group of six, on holiday from UK, Chapmans Peak Restaurant had been highly recommended and it lived up to its reputation. The food was scrumptious, an excellent variety, and beautifully...More

We were driving around the area at mid-day and looking for a place to stop for a bite - this old favorite seemed worth a try. Haven't been here for years - revamp has made the stoep more inviting. Food was reasonable, if not much...More

Sitting on the terrace on a sunny winters day looking at the beach is divine, add to that great food, great wine, polite, friendly service and you’ve got a win every time. Portion sizes seem to have reduced (or maybe our children/appetites have grown) but...More

I was told that the calamari is the best around and I opted for the calamari and prawn pan, served with lemon and garlic butter which was outstanding. I loved the historical old-world feel to the place. The service was better than I had expected...More

We have been many times over the years during peak and off peak. It’s been my favorite spot for calamari. Sadly we were all a bit let down. Firstly the bread was half baked. We all felt like the calamari was from a packet and...More

Favourite seating at this restaurant is outside on the verandah on a sunny day. Beautiful views of the beach and Sentinel Peak and especially good to watch the sunset. They are popular for the pan fried Calamari and also serve varied dishes, steaks and salads

It can become very very busy here. Being a tourist hotspot so understandable. So service can take a little bit of strain, but vibey ( not chaotic ), prices are fair and the calamari is the BEST.

Friends highly recommended this restaurant and we were not disappointed. The restaurant has the feel of an old establishment, but in a good way. The music is typical of a French bistro and the atmosphere relaxed. We found the service to be attentive and the...More

I would say not before 10:30 pm the earliest especially since the sun only sets around 8:30pm in Cape Town at the moment.

Hi, it's probably online but to my mind it is medium price range with seafood, steak and Portuguese specialities. Hope you enjoy.

The restaurant is a local institution, renowned worldwide for the best Calamari in Cape Town, with a popular sun-drenched terrace overlooking the bay and mountains. Calamari at the Chapmans Peak was voted as "one of top 20 things to do in Cape Town".It’s the ideal location for those lingering sunsets and balmy evenings. A sun-drenched verandah boasting spectacular views of the bay offers an alternative eating venue for those wishing to dine Al fresco. And in those winter months, it’s one of few places in the Cape with fireplaces (dating back 100yrs)
