Really lucky to have got a great table with stunning views over the water in the distance for Sunday lunch. Excellent, reasonably priced, fish made this place a winner.

Great calamari and the summer platter! Sat outside- got a table with a lovely view. Inside dining looks lovely as well.

My family attended my Gran's 91st Birthday at Chapman's Peak Restaurant for lunch, there was about 15 of us. The staff were all so accommodating and helpful. Made a fire as it was in winter to keep us all warm. They were able to handle a large table with ease. The food was great with a different winter special menu... More

Great location on a terrace juste after Chapman peak Very nice service, lots of smile Portions are very big The fish was ok, fresh but a bit dry for me The calamari though were awesome. Tasty, very fresh, tender and NOT chewy A great halt for lunch

After showing our friends the spectacular scenery along the Chapman's Peak Drive we stopped for lunch at the Chapman's Peak Hotel. Excellent service along with wonderful selection of wines and super food! Good menu selection and the preparation of the food was really worth the review. The menu has a Portuguese flavor in the preparation, which sets it above many... More

Wonderful restaurant to take in the sunset after a drive along Champan's Peak Drive. Great service and food, relaxed atmosphere. Always a great place to take visitors. Good for cocktails or a full meal. We visited twice in our 1 week stay. First time for cocktails and then on our last evening to watch the sunset and enjoy a great... More

Stunning area, historical hotel that is popular with locals and visitors alike. Great seafood menu. Our calamari was fresh and tender, but a bit on the oily side. Service was brisk and the cuppachinos so so. Parking can be a bit of an issue when busy. Overall a great experience in this historical hotel.

We hadn't booked, nor had we anticipated stopping off at this old-timer, but on driving through Hout Bay last Saturday, we suddenly decided to give it a whirl and were thrilled we did for we were so pleasantly surprised by everything. First, we got a good table on the terrace right overlooking the beach & yachts sailing about in the... More

The Veranda area of the hotel overlooks the ocean and is a nice spot for late afternoon drinks and a snack. The road to Chapman's Peak runs right past the front of the veranda but I did not find it too noisy. The service was good.

Anyone coming to Cape Town wants to have a meal looking at the ocean which is understandable, Chapman's Peak Hotel is the perfect spot for that. Unfortunately that's where it ends, the food is shocking, they do not have a clue, just my wife and I, she had the prawn calamari combo with a small side salad, I had cubed... More

The restaurant is a local institution, renowned worldwide for the best Calamari in Cape Town, with a popular sun-drenched terrace overlooking the bay and mountains. Calamari at the Chapmans Peak was voted as "one of top 20 things to do in Cape Town".It’s the ideal location for those lingering sunsets and balmy evenings. A sun-drenched verandah boasting spectacular views of the bay offers an alternative eating venue for those wishing to dine Al fresco. And in those winter months, it’s one of few places in the Cape with fireplaces (dating back 100yrs)
