Our family get-together under the oak trees on a long family table with the grandchildren running safely on the lawn and enjoying the jungle gym - the adults enjoying great food, great wine and great service - thank you for opening a beautiful space for us to build memories

Beautiful venue and scenery but the food and service did not live up to the expectation. Nothing on the menu was available and the service was atrocious. when the food arrived it was half portions, ice cream was melted, food cold

I met an old school friend at The Millhouse Kitchen for a long overdue reunion. We could not have picked a better venue. We started off with brunch at 10.30am which was really scrumptious, then we had several cups of coffee. By 3am we decided we can just as well have lunch as we were far from finished catching up.... Unfortunately the experience did not live up to expectations. For the starter / main course: Pork belly, springbok loin and fish of the day were not available. Furthermore, dishes containing avocado pear would need to have the avocado pear substituted, with "any other vegetable of the customers choice". For the desert course: The ice cream/berries/meringue dish was not available. The... More

Super breakfast and excellent service from Latoya! Isn't every meal at a restaurant dependent on great service and we certainly had that today. Lovely gardens and good foid🤗

LOVED, LOVED, LOVED the gardens, they are manicured and some of the statues are quite spectacular. The oak tree in front of the Millhouse is a beauty. Food was delicious. Had the pork belly. YUM. Could not identify the apple sauce (maybe because it was not on my plate?) but the thinly chopped green apples added a nice fresh crunch... More

After wine tasting at the Lourensford Estate we learned that their wines are on sale in the restaurant too. BYO and save substantial sums on the menu price - corkage very cheap. Food was pretty good but service was excellent.

Went for breakfast on a Sunday. Atmosphere is quiet and relaxed. The beautiful scenery and setting enhances the relaxed atmosphere.

Founded in 1700, Lourensford Estate has married its historic heritage with a vision to be at the forefront of modern wine technology and a leader amongst South African Wine producers.

Owner & Executive Chef, Bjorn Guido's cooking career started at The Greenhouse at Cellars-Hohenort under chef Peter Templehoff. He then moved abroad and joined Babington House, part of the SOHO HOUSE group under the renowned Ronnie Bonetti of River Cafe London. After gaining experience abroad, he returned home and took up the role of Head Chef at The Franschhoek Kitchen on the Holden Manz Wine Estate.

Food provenance and sustainability are core to Millhouse's philosophy. The eatery's contemporary barn-conversion interior puts a modern twist on classic elements, featuring a mix of leather banquette seating and reclaimed timber walls. Bjorn's aim was to create a neighbourhood feel where guests can relax and enjoy each other's company. Watch as food is prepared in the expansive open kitchen and Italian style pizza's are delivered fresh from the wood fired oven.
