The live music was good and the atmosphere was very nice. Unfortunately that's where the good ends. I ordered one meal (pork schnitzel) and was given a different meal (chicken schnitzel). Not wanting to wait longer than I already had (rather long), I accepted the meal but requested to be charged for this and not the more expensive meal I... More

This fun whacky pub is great for a meal and drinks, especially with a group of friends. A fun place full of little quirky surprises. Prices are very reasonable. a lot of German food is on offer and you can have a full big meal for under R 100.

Or simply a great time spent with family and friends, enjoying German beer and delicious food. The Oompah Band never disappoints (which our little boy is especially taken to), and neither does the service. We keep going back for all of the above reasons and can only recommend the restaurant to Germans and South Africans alike - and of course... More

Every now and then we get a craving for some Currywurst or other German fare. This is where we go. Now don't expect white tablecloths and small portions on big plates served with a flurry by polished waiters. The restaurant is very rustic, decorated with a lot of trinkets and odds and ends - but we like it. The food... More

Delicious food; best Eisbein in town, strips of beef fillet was creamy, hot and tender. Great German beer and atmosphere. Very hospitable and friendly staff.

We enjoyed eisbein and goulash, there was so much food between us! It was all cooked to perfection, and so reasonably priced. For dessert, we had these gorgeous shooters, called "nut job". Yummy!! The owner, Detlev, entertained us with jokes and stories, but he knew when to leave us to enjoy our time together. I love this rustic, quirky restaurant,... More

Don't be fooled by how this place looks. If you enjoy good food, good service and a great place to relax with friends, then this is definitely for you! Their food is excellent, portions are big and the price reasonable. We have only ever had great service at this restaurant. The best thing about this place is that you can... More

When you walk into Im Eimer you may think you've made a mistake. It's basically a big house with holes knocked through the walls leading down into "cellars" with no attempt having been made to make the conversion look professional. There's no archways between the rooms - just big holes in the brickwork. We went on a wet, winter's night... More
