It's hard to believe this restaurant was rated as high as you had it! The restaurant itself was cute nicely decorated. The food however not up to the prices which we're really expensive. We consider trip advisor the gold standard of ratings and this was the first time we have been disappointed. We are wondering how they got all these... More

When traveling through Gallup NM, we asked the hotel staff where we might dine that evening. The suggestion was made for the Badlands Grill. When traveling on the interstate, expectations for great food are set at a low bar. So, what a nice surprise to dine at the Badlands Grill. The food and the service was exceptional. Wine list was... Like old-West decor and steak? Then this is the restaurant for you. Steaks are nice cuts and they know how to make them to your taste. .Sides are a different story. They're ordinary, bland and not fresh, though the salad was OK. If you like wine with dinner, forget it. This is a beer establishment. Service was good and the... More

I went to Badlands for dinner and was not disappointed. The service was incredible, a very friendly waitress who gave me spot on recomendations when I asked. I had the apple bacon wrapped shrimp as an appetizer and it was very tasty and the portion was generous. The Ribeye was very good and cooked to perfection If you in Gallup... More

Walked in at 5 pm waitress was very nice. Menu was good steakhouse fare. I had sirloin chilie just the right amount of heat. My steak was done perfectly. The waitress was great. Good wine selection.

We found the venue unique, the food excellent and all staff pleasant and professional, especially our server Jenna. Really loved the creme brûlée. One thing to note is the lack of a traditional liquor offering. Instead, they offer wine-based liquors. The wine list was fine as well as beer offerings. A nice place to stop approximately two hours west of... More

Tired of franchise restaurant same old stuff food? Try Badlands Grill in Gallup, NM. Excellent menu selection, they make a large portion of their menu in house. Superb wine menu. Located on Route 66 they cater to boomers who can appreciate the way restaurants used to be. Great value.

Stopped in here for dinner one evening at the suggestion of some local people while on business in Gallup. I am glad I took their advice. The meal as very good, I had a grilled filet and veggies. Prepared perfectly. Very polite and friendly server. I would strongly suggest this restaurant if you are in the Gallup area.

The Badlands Grill is perfect in 2 ways--it is in untouched '60's condition. You expect the patrons to be smoking their cigarettes, the waitresses to have little frilly aprons and Frank Sinatra to be singing. Sadly, not so, BUT the food makes all the difference. I wish I had been in Gallup 2 nights instead of 1 so that I... More

Went to dinner hoping for a cocktail and good meal. Settled for wine and a great, inexpensive dinner served with a basket of seasoned "saltine" crackers, their house specialty. We actually asked for seconds of the chili spiced crackers, surprisingly addictive. As to the lack of cocktails, we were told New Mexico has pricey, restricted, liquor licenses, so many restaurants... More

Not a chain, Badlands offers true New Mexico hospitality and taste- for those of you traveling through, it's the place where locals go when they want a meal that's truly a cut above the rest, and relax with friends and neighbors. There's no dress code...no pretentiousness...just beef that's been wet-aged for 21 days, cut in-house and cooked to order...combine these with an ice cold beer or excellent bottle of wine... and you've got the stuff a cattleman's dreams are made of!
