Nice steakhouse in Hobbs. Not much around here but chains, but this was a nice place to eat. It's not fine dining but it is decent food, good staff and good service. The beer selection is good as well.

Went on a Monday. Seemed to be plenty of staff on hand but my particular server was lacking. No refill given on my water. Waited awhile for my check although there was an apology. Food was excellent though so the experience wasn't all bad. Didn't realize this was a restaurant with multiple locations throughout New Mexico and Texas. Would go... More

Very clean and well appointed, the food is great quality, the soup and salad bar are top notch. Bartenders do a great job with mixed drinks as well.

My wife and I went to Cattle Baron for a small celebration. We found the restaurant "average": prompt and excellent service, nice ambiance but mediocre food. Fresh/tasty salad bar, diluted drinks, tepid food reminiscent of cheap chain restaurants. TA reviews make this the #2 restaurant in Hobbs. Surely there is better!

AS USUAL ! ! ! ! Every time you go here, you have a 50- 50 % chance, of either getting bad service, or bad food, or both ! ! ! This time, I ordred an appatizer, 12 oz Prime Rib, with baked potato, and broccoli. Never received the app. , or the broccoli, and was charged for the 16... More

The service set the tone, bad from the first minute we entered! No smile, no greeting, frowningly asked table? We responded yes for 4. The waiter took our order, again he seemed to be in a bad way, no smile, no welcome, just matter of fact, get this thing over with.. We asked for med rare steaks, over cooked is... More

We were in Hobbs for a Dwight Yoakum concert. We lost at casino but won at the Cattle Baron. It had a great salad bar and steak.

This place has been here decades, but it looks almost new on the inside, because it's so clean! It was really busy, but the hostess station ran smoothly and the 3 people that were working it were on top of it and communicated with each other. The salad bar is what they're known for and it doesn't disappoint. Super fresh... More

Heard a lot about Cattle Baron's being good. Tried it; service was awful as was the tasteless food. Try somewhere else.
