Whether you eat inside or at the patio (weather permitting), the food is always good and the service is great!

The staff was very friendly. And the environment was cozy. We are from South Texas and the food was a different flavor than what we are used to. But probably quite good for the locals. I would recommend it for anyone traveling that does not know what Tex Mex is. The waiter saw that I had not finished. And bent... More

It can busy during dinner but I promise it's worth the wait! The red enchiladas are some of the best in town, they can be spicy so order them with an egg and sour cream if you don't have a high tolerance for chile. The flautas with flour tortillas are another great option. Whatever you order, get a side chile... More

The Christmas shredded beef enchiladas were outstanding even if the red sauce was a bit heavy on the garlic.

We weren't sure we wanted to wait 30 minutes for seating for 7 people but WOW! This place puts other Mexican food places in Cruces to shame! The salsa has some kick and everything else followed suit. Be prepared to wait if it's a Friday night. You'll be glad you did!

This has taken over the top spot in Las Cruces. The salsa is by far the best (Chopes is 2nd). The chips are fresh, service is great. I get the combo #3 Red with an egg over easy. Just excellent. Rellenos are very good and my mom had a fajita burrito smothered that she loved. If veggie is your thing... More

This is a great local mexican restaurant that has been serving up great New Mexican cuisine for decades. It is my favorite spot for chile con queso. The food is very reasonabl y priced and they have specials every night of the week. Also, the waitors are always on their game. This is the real deal and I can recommend.

A weary traveler finally arrives at her destination only to have to begin the search for food she can eat. Thankfully my cousin knew of this place. If you need detailed lists of ingredients you need to call early in the day. Thankfully they were able to tell me what oil they used, and how they prepped the food so... More

This was our first visit and we will return. We especially enjoyed lunch on the patio with excellent and friendly service. The gorditos and the El Sombrero tacos were very good and are well recommended. Prices were competitive, the menu enticing and the food very good.

I like the atmosphere at El Sombrero although it's almost always crowded when I'm there (usually for lunch). This time around, we hit it after finding out that the line at Nellie's was too long. I was really craving some gorditas, and El sombrero stepped in to fill the void. Service was friendly and relatively fast considering the lunch crowd.... More
