Predictably good breakfast and my favorite chile rellenos anywhere. There lattes are good as are huevos. Walking distance from our condo so one of my favorite places to walk to!

My son and I were in Taos over Christmas. He made a reservation for us at Doc Martin's, one of a few restaurants open for holiday visitors, for Christmas night dinner. What a perfect choice. Doc Martin's is award-winning fine, but not pretentious, dining in a historic landmark. I believe the restaurant is actually in the frontier doctor's house. We... More
Whenever I come to Taos , this is one of the places I go to, mainly for the regional cooking. It's not everywhere that you can find snake sausage. Try a New Mexican wine if they have some, not the greatest wine on earth, but more than good enough, and this is the place to try it.
Being New Year's Day there weren't a lot of places open but we were guided by reviews here and paid a visit. The restaurant is part of Taos Inn which is made up of a group of adobe house houses built in the 19th century - so there is a quaint ambience. The menu is interesting and we tried the... More
I am compelled to write a review about the terrific staff at Doc Martin's before they get a bad review from a very rude party this morning, New Year's Day. Every place in town is crowded, and we were told there would be a long wait so we sat within view of the dining room for 10 minutes. The hostess... More
The atmosphere here is fantastic. It's super cozy and the drinks are really good. The nachos are massive - enough for four people to share. My only complaint is that the service is consistently slow, but the atmosphere more than makes up for that.
We planned a two day trip from Santa Fe to Taos. We do it for the change of scenery and this time we were going to combine it with a visit at the restaurant. We had a gift certificate that is valid to the end of 2016. I called 10 am on the day of the travel to make a... More
With the snow outside and the warm cozy dining room inside the ambeonce was wonderful. The food was delicious and the service made me feel at home.

Ummmm, Adam K? Is that your idea of a "customer is always right" response? If so, perhaps you should practice a bit. You are correct when saying we were not there on Christmas. When I wrote this I meant Christmas holiday - as in family vacation - as in, that we'd been waiting many years to take together. Oh and yes, the Fourteeners WERE playing. I should know. I sat with my 70 year old mother and 3 year old grand daughter for nearly an hour under the Christmas Tree listening to them.
We were there EXACTLY on Saturday night, Dec 27th. 6:45. HOLLY took our reservations. In person. I can't remember the name of our server. No matter. You were so flip in your response (basically insinuating that my review was a lie) that I will be back...the 5th of NEVER!
