This is my go-to restaurant in Taos if I just want a great, 'home-cooked' style meal. It's where all the locals go and I haven't been in the place when it hasn't been buzzing. The wait staff is friendly, quick to fill water glasses and coffee cups and our entrees came out quickly and were warm. Great comfort food.

Hubby and I enjoyed a delish dinner at Michael's Kitchen. He had the fried chicken and I had a cheese enchilada with their yummy red sauce. It's has a nice kick to it, but not 🌶 too spicy. Lots of choices on the menu. It was hard to decide what to choose. The staff was perfectly attentive and super sweet.... More

We were greeted right away. Our waitress was very friendly I ordered a combo plate with enchilada and chile- relleno. The food was hot, fresh and quick. The plate came with rice and beans but the best part of the meal are the Sopapillas! Warm, fluffy, almost sweet, just delicious! We took some with us!

We stopped here for breakfast during our Christmas vacation. Wow! Excellent food and service. We took some pastries to go and enjoyed them later in the day. We would definitely return.

This is highly recommended on Trip Advisor, so we decided to give it a try for breakfast. It is very popular, and if the amount of food is an important criteria for you, then this is a good option. The food was served quickly, and the server was pleasant and efficient. It is "good ol' café breakfast food", with a... More

We visited Taos to learn more about our mothers ancestry. Michaels was wonderful and I believe it used to be Spiveys Cafe. My mom was a customer when it was Spiveys and that was so cool to be in a place she had frequented ~ The food was delicious and loved the atmosphere! So different from our southern cafes but... Atmospheric restaurant with good service. Overpriced for quality of food, but when you're a tourist you expect this. Very few vegetarian options, so ordered veg tacos. Something didn't taste right but was so hungry ate it anyway. Felt queasy after meal & have been feeling low-grade nausea on and off ever since, almost a week now.

Food was amazing! Wait can be a little long because all the locals eat here. Great coffee, great omelet and just terrific. Must eat while in Taos for sure.
