Champagne on arrival,table decorations were excellent and even though the menu was limited the food served was well presented, plentiful and delicious.The venue is spacious and comfortable with some nice views around. I found the service very good and the staff courteous and professional.The entertainment was a female singer and saxophone player who kept us all entertained until the midnight hour,our party of six had a really enjoyable evening.

“The View” Kitchen & Bar at Brean Golf & Country Club is in a league of its own for excellent food, value for money and views.
Having recently employed a new head chef with a very impressive CV and rebranding the restaurant I thought I would sample the Golfers Menu after a very enjoyable game of golf.
The food and dining experience was perfect and incredible value for money with mains just £7.50 a head! Sat out on the terrace it’s a beautiful setting with panoramic views across the golf course, Brent Knoll and the Mendips.
Having dined at many golf clubs over the years as a PGA professional I can’t think of a golf venue that is on par with Brean.
Many golf clubs offer sub standard food at inflated prices with a dull menu and cooks with little passion or imagination.
I’m very much looking forward to returning to sample the main restaurant menu, Sunday lunch and afternoon tea in the future.
Unlike some Golf Clubs the restaurant welcomes non golfers to use the restaurant and the staff are very friendly.

This is a lovely place to go for lunch.
We came here for a birthday lunch and what a great time we had. Inside was very clean and tidy, we had reserved a table which was laid out very nicely but the birthday guest loved the look of the views outside so we decided to sit outside instead. Sitting on the patio area you get a gorgeous view of the golf course and it feels very glamorous.
This is the best place we have been in Brean, and on the sunny afternoon we went here we really felt in holiday mode. The favourite meal was the pie of the day:
We took a birthday cake in advance and the staff surprised the birthday guest bringing the cake out and sung happy birthday, they were very happy and it added that special touch.
We would all definitely come here again and would recommend to anyone visiting Brean to pay this place a visit. The prices were very reasonable. The service was excellent and we all had a great time.

We bought tickets at £55 per person as we wanted a special NYE .we couldn't of got it so wrong .on arrival it was quite clear that the regulars (members )got preferential treatment and a much better greeting .we had to ask for our glass of complimentary (already paid for by me of course )champagne ???instead of being served it . 7.30 was are ticket time but we weren't allowed into seat ourselves until way past 8pm . Our starters were a long time coming .we had to get a drink from the bar as we soon found out that the meal didn't include drinks .The table was extremely cluttered. Over bearing I'd say .
The Terrine (pate ) was far too strong and the way it was presented was dreadful ,butter didnt come with the dish but was packet butter to be shared with the whole table of 8 people . After the first course we waited at least an hour to be served our mains that was very overcooked and tasteless with jellied fat running through it ,it tasted of fat like it had been very overcooked and then sat in juices far too long it wasn't seasoned at all ,and the pepper grinder on the table didn't work at all . The douphenois potatoes were awful ,flavourless and not edible .The christmas crackers were of the cheapest quality .The service was dreadful and minimal some had obviously been drafted in just for the evening with no experience.If you ordered wine at the table it was by the bottle and had to be paid for on order before it was bought to you after a very long wait ..i can't comment any further as i wasn't going to wait another hour with dirty plates in front of me to be then served desert ...
A truly terrible experience from start to fin⁸ish .I paid £110 .00 for what should of been a memorable experience . If it wasn't for the lovely people either side of us who were complete strangers we would of left much sooner .
Also at 9.30pm the entertainment still hadn't started .needless to say i won't be returning ever for any reason and i definitely won't recomend .

We take all of the feedback we receive seriously, so we can make improvements where necessary. It's a shame you weren't able to take the time to speak with the Manager on the evening about your concerns. Attended here today. Ordered 5 meals, one of which was a gluten free cheese burger. Burger came and the waitress wasn’t sure if it was the gluten free option or not. She left the burger and went to check, came back and said it’s not gluten free but it will be out shortly. Everyone had eaten their meals by the time the gluten free burger came out, the burger came after 40 mins only to find it was a vegetarian burger, not a gluten free option?! Staff apologised and blamed the chef, didn’t offer any discount or other options. Other meals were not how I wouldn’t have expected a country club standard to be at all. Will not be dining here again.

I attended a wedding reception here 29th Feb, lovely venue (all very new), very organised, okay service, excellent food.
We also enjoyed breakfast here the next morning and have to commend the staff that worked both events for looking on top of their game at all times. Veggie breakfast was great!

Loved the friendly staff and the view of the Golf course but waited over an hour for our food to arrive and it was wasn’t nice.
I ordered the chicken burger and it was dry and so over cooked that I couldn’t eat it.
Someone else ordered the beef burger and it was the same, dry and over cooked.
The steaks had large lumps of fat left around the edge.
The day before we had been to Wetherspoons in Bath and the food was cooked fresh, tasty and much nicer. Our bill there was £50 vs £160 here!!
Overall - the nice setting doesn’t match the food.

I came here in July to check out the golf course and facilities as I’m thinking of joining. I was welcomed at the bar by a very attentive and friendly lady who I later established was the manager. She took my order and asked me to find a seat.I have to say the club is immaculate and very clean, Covid-19 does not stand a chance here!
The outlook from the deck area is absolutely beautiful with vistas of the course and lake area. It is very calming and a real sun trap. Although these are difficult times right now and it was busy, my drink arrived promptly and with a smile. Jackie, as I’d heard her name mentioned by other guests was chatty and when she discovered the reason for my visit explained how I could join the club and offered valuable advice.
I was also very impressed with the quality of meals I saw being served and will definitely be back for food even if I don’t join the club.

My Husband and I have recently moved to the area and we’re looking for somewhere to go for Valentines night and decided to try it here as it wasn’t far for us to travel, I must admit our expectations weren’t too high but our experience far out weighted our expectations, it was excellent in every way from the waiting staff to the amazing food.
From the first moment we arrived we were looked after by the very polite and efficient waiting staff and shown to a lovely table, I believe the views are wonderful during daylight hours and will definitely be returning for lunch in the near future.
We had to pre book our food which wasn’t a problem and we chose a meze starter which included the best Calamari we have eaten anywhere , plus garlic prawns, smoked salmon, smoked mackerel, crab pate, hummus, olives and pita bread, main course was a whole beef Wellington cooked perfectly with dauphinois potatoes and vegetables and we finished with an assiette of desserts - lemon cheesecake, raspberry mousse and chocolate dipped strawberries.
All in all it was a perfect introduction to the area and I can highly recommend it, we will definitely be back, looking forward to trying their Sunday lunch next

We've now eaten there on there on numerous evenings, Steak Thursdays, Sunday Lunches and even attended the NYE Ball. The food is always outstanding with great service. Not the cheapest place in town but worth spending that little bit extra on for a quality experience. Thoroughly recommend a visit.

13 of us visited for festive lunch an the 19th December ,though some had to cancel last minute due to the times we are in the staff and management were extremely understanding and helpful .the food was delicious (as always) and we Had regal treatment from all the staff . Would highly recommend this establishment for fine dining lovely views and friendly atmosphere

Terrible service was made to feel like a second class citizen. Ordered a cream tea for 1 and a cappuccino for my partner, they bought out 2 cream teas, I queried it and was told that is what id ordered and I would have to pay extra for the cappuccino anyway, i disagreed and the chef said that is what id ordered, the manager then came to the table to ask about the mix up, I told him I had made my request clear when booking and told the waiter also….he replied by saying all booking conversations are recorded and he would check the tape…..he then returned and apologised and promptly took the extra cream tea away and said he would negotiate a price…..what’s to negotiate I ordered a cream tea and a cappuccino that’s what I ate and that’s what i will pay for. Very bad customer service here will never return.
Made me laugh because the table adjacent they gave them free desserts courtesy of the chef as they were good customers obviously our face didn’t fit.

I tried to take my daughter here for breakfast. When we arrived shortly before 11, we were informed that they were not serving food yet. They then stood looking at us. I asked why there was a breakfast menu on the website if no breakfast is being served, the staff weren’t too sure about that one.
There was no invitation to come and have hot drinks, nor did anyone offer to check if they had any cold food available to offer us. I did phone them about 10 minutes later at which point they offered to check with the chef to see what he could do, this would have been a lot more useful had the offer been made while we were standing in reception.
All in all a very bad experience that we will not be repeating anytime soon.

Myself and my friend was looking forward to visiting but the time we were there felt very rushed. We ordered our Sunday lunch and within 5 minutes it was on the table, you can tell it had been sat on the side as the gravy had congealed, it didn’t have much taste to it either, vegetables were bland and hard. We asked about a wine on the menu for the waitress to say I haven’t got a clue so we ordered something else. Within a few minutes of us finishing eating we were given the bill, my friend still had a full glass of wine at this point. Very disappointed with the experience.

Celebrated my birthday at the View Restaurant Our party of 9 had a lovely relaxed meal, even though we had three grandchildren under three in our group. The staff were so lovely and the food on Fridays Grill night was really good and very reasonably priced with a free drink of your choice and bread on the table which is a rarity these days. There is a nice, quiet atmosphere and lovely decor, it was night time so we didn't see the view. Most of us were staying in a lodge on site so it was two minute walk. Would definitely be regulars if we lived nearby. Thank you to all the staff for making my birthday a bit special
