Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Not our first time here. Greeted by owner who kind of pushed the house bottle of wine. That was okay. We all ordered, had a bottle of wine and a few drinks. Food was good. New bottle of wine opened and refills on drinks appeared...without anyone ordering more. Make sure you let them know no refills unless requested. Celebrating a birthday and congrats on the plate was a nice touch. We will go back, but, will make sure to let owner know we do not want drink refills unless we ask for them!More

We enjoyed a great dinner with drinks. The owner was friendly and very helpful when it came to ordering the specials. Atmosphere was quiet and decor was nice. Great place to bring a date or come with the family.

After visiting this establishment for a party I discovered that the restaurant was featured in one of Gordon Ramsay's "24 Hours to Hell and Back" in 2018. I guess I was fortunate to visit after the transformation. My experience was not as bad as Gordon's....I found Bella Gianna's a very cozy place. The atmosphere, staff, and food were all good. The decor made you feel comfortable. The staff was very polite and attentive. Everyone seemed to really enjoy the food. I personally found the chicken within the Marsala slightly on the bland side but it was still good. The pasta and salad were great. Last but not least, the crumb cake dessert was excellent.More

Went there early Friday evening - we were the only customers. Place is nicely decorated albeit a bit dark. The staff was friendly and attentive. Menu had nice selections and there were at least 6 more specials. Our dinners were delicious. Prices were on the...high side but not unread as the portions were large and tasty. An hour later when we were leaving we were still the only customers. Seemed strange for a Friday.More

I was there Saturday evening for dinner with friends. i got there around 6:30, Dinner was at 7:30. Teh Parking Lot was empty. I decided to go in for a drink with my wife. When we entered the ambiance looked dead. There was no one...at the bar. I had to ask the bar tender if they could turn on the TV to watch the Yankee Game. She Did. The bartender was very nice. The employees looked a little tensed. Our Friends arrived around 7:30pm we were seated in a room that looks like an eat-in Kitchen, we were the only ones in the room, it was very quiet. We asked the Manager/owner if he can turn on some music. He raised the volume for the speakers but only made the music louder in the other room, he had to lower it for the other patrons complained its too loud there were no audio speakers within the room we were eating. The menu they give us did not match the menu from the website, very limited choices We ordered Appetizers. I ordered the Clams clams oreganata, which looked more like Stuffed Clams and they were not real clams, for the clams weren't attached to the shell. In addition, they were very salty, and in a red sauce. All this time I felt we were being rushed. not soon after we ordered the appetizers, the waiter cam over to see if we wanted to order. dinner. After the appetizers arrived we ordered dinner, my wife had the Red Snapper over Wild Rice, which looked like like something you microwave. I ordered the Veal Saltimbocca. Which was very Dry, The prosciutto was very hard and dry, and it was served on four stems of Broccoli. Not Worth The Price. out friend's wife ordered the Special Red Snapper Marechiara, when it arrived, It Reeked of Fish. She could not eat is. I suggested to return it, they elected not. They did not eat it. Shame on the Waiter and the cook for even bringing it to the table. As we were wrapping up dinned with our drinks still have full, the waitress came over to see if we would like to order desert, i had to ask her if she is trying to get rid of us. I would never returnMore

My wife and I went to the restaurant tonight with a Groupon coupon. We got concerned when we saw we were the only couple in the restaurant, except for a few men at the bar. We were shown to a table and the person who...took our order was unshaven and wearing a plaid shirt and appeared disheveled. We gave him our order of two salads and two orders of chicken francese. While we waited for our drinks, one of the employees started singing. The line in the Spanish song is “besame mucho”, which means “kiss me a lot”. However, he sang “besame culo” which means “kiss my a__”. He and the other men, including the staff, were talking loudly about the business and continued to do so when two women came in. The salads looked and tasted good, the chicken francese was not. Any chicken francese I have ever had was made with lemon wine sauce. This was made with brown Marsala sauce and was bland. I don’t understand how people can rate this as a 4 or 5 star restaurant, when the chef doesn’t know the difference between how you prepare francese and Marsala dishes. Also, when the employees don’t know how to dress for their job and when not to act like a crude fool in a business with customers in the establishment. Perhaps that is why the restaurant had so few people in it. By the way, the two women who came in, had drinks and left quickly. When we left, there was no one left in the dining room. Now I know why they went on Groupon.More

A gem of a find. Bella Gianna is clearly the best Italian in Rockland and rivals some of the best Italian places in NYC. You’ll dine in a nostalgic Italians atmosphere with great service and your favorite dishes with plenty of specials to please all....Owner Vinny is warm and friendly. Food was serviced promptly and you’re not rushed out the door. Reminds me of some of my favorite Italian spots in Brooklyn. Give it a try. You won’t be disappointed.More

My friend wants to order the chicken scarpariello (was on their website)but the owner said they don’t have...it tonight . One of the friend ordered the special rigatoni with hot sausage. The pasta came too tough and sausage didn’t seared since like not cooking throw. He only eat a little bit The waiter didn’t even bother to ask why what’s wrong with the food! Been here about six times now and cannot say enough about the quality. You're greeted as soon as you come in and it feels like going to Grandma's. Vinny is the best. I swear I know him from another life. Food is fantastic. I have...never been disappointed. Service is great. Daniel is a top notch server. So are all the other waiters and staff. The ambiance is nice. Other tables are not on top of you. Their takeout menu cannot be beaten. Get here now!More

Last night I went to Gianna's with my husband and some of our very dear friends. The atmosphere is so warm and inviting that it's the perfect place to sit and reconnect with people. The owner was very hospitable - the food was delicious and...the service was wonderful. This was our first visit to Gianna's- but it certainly won't be our last! What a happy experience... can't wait to go back!More

Went to dinner with friends. First time there. Some ordered pasta dishes, one fish and one veal dish. Pasta dishes arrived hot and plentiful! Meat and fish dishes had just meat and fish, and my husband briefly wondered what it came with but shortly after...the waitress arrived with a bowl of potatoes to share. Almost done with the meal when the owner or manager came by and asked how our dinner was. My husband said his veal dish was good but would have liked a pasta side with it...and it went downhill from there. The man who asked how we liked the food proceeded to loudly provide a lecture on meat dishes and what they come with. He for sure did not appreciate the feedback that he asked for, and then left the area. My husband was going to wait outside while we settled the bill and on his way out the door he heard the same guy carrying on loudly about "the potato incident" in the bar area! So disrespectful and unprofessional! I don't recall ever experiencing anything like this before...a night out with our friends spending good $$ for dinner should never have turned into what it did. So disappointing!More
